Pathos @ Thu Jun 10, 2004 12:55 pm

thats funny!

Rev_Blair @ Thu Jun 10, 2004 4:41 pm

The thing is, Adam, there's actually a resemblance between Bush and the monkey. The pictures of Karra look nothing like Michael Moore though.

Rosco @ Thu Jun 10, 2004 5:58 pm

I wouldn't compare Moore to any higher life form, maybe a maggot or tapeworm would be Moore close to the mark.

"He's going to wake up every day for the rest of his life, and he's going to tell us how he hates everything about this country except his right to hate it. And then we say that we love it and he's going to tell us what naive sheep we are and that he's the true patriot because he hates it and he sees all the problems in it. Yeah, right, Mike. You know something, if my yawn got any bigger they'd have to assign it a hurricane name, okay? Michael Moore simultaneously represents everything I detest in a human being and everything I feel obligated to defend in an American. Quite simply, it is that stupid moron's right to be that utterly, completely wrong."

hi everybody!!!

i just watched michael moore's bowling for columbine!

I live in Denver! Littleton is a suburb of Denver!!!

I gotta say that I think Michael Moore is someone who gives us americans a bad name. He is a person who has achieved some power and exploits it for his own personal gain. Which would be great if he was doing something useful with it. I've never really been to another country. My gf is from vancouver area, I picked her up a few weeks ago, but kind of ran into some probs. with the boarder guards so they wouldn't let me pass. *please no jokes*

Anyhow I'm utterly disgusted in the way this man, and most people for that matter represent my country. Not all of us are pompous assholes who only think for themselves. Some of us are actually intelligent people who care for others. Sometimes more than ourselves. Its just this is the country we were born in. I'd love to live in New Zealand, or even British Columbia. I've always wanted to go skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb.

Sorry sometimes I stray from the topic.

Michael Moore is proof that for the most part we are a selfish country who's only concern is to benifit ourselves.I don't know why people shoot each other here. I couldn't imagine shooting someone else. I have found growing up that there are much better ways to settle a dispute.

There is a new documentary out. I haven't heard who did it, but its about McDonalds. Some guy ate at McDonalds 3 times a day for 30 days. Everytime he was asked to supersize his meals he had too. The guy of course gained 30 pounds. This is an example of we are a country that worries about the frivelous things such as having large enough food quantities on the menu to feed some overweight slob who hasn't seen a form of exercise since they were in highschool. Instead of helping the homeless, or providing healthcare to people who really need it.

I mean come on everyone has heard about the lady who spilled coffee on her legs and sued McDonalds for millions of dollars.

How many people know what kind of car she was driving. When I was in college we studied that case in depth. She was driving her grandsons Ford Probe GT. It was a 5 speed manual transmission. Everyone I drive stick. I can tell you first hand that you can't put anything between your legs and drive a manual transmission. It just doesn't work very well, but what can you do. As long as a judge will hear the case there will be these frivelous lawsuits.

I know it was pointless reply. I just wanted to say something.

re Michael Moore-So what is this, you can't attack the argument so you attack the man or woman with the argument?.

Canadaka @ Wed Jun 16, 2004 1:50 am

i agree, i think ppl take it out on moore himeself too much, sure some of his facts are wrong or gorified, but i think he gets his point across, which is a just one.

I have seen all of his films, all of his tv shows, and just read Stupid White Men.

othello @ Wed Jun 16, 2004 7:58 am

Whatever else you can say about him (and I agree that he's not perfect), he is causing discussion and asking people to think about some of the issues facing his country.

Rosco @ Wed Jun 16, 2004 12:08 pm

The only subject of his I can't totally discredit Moore-on is the demonization and scapegoating of certain minorities in the media and elsewhere, but even then I think he is just shrewdly using that line to push his agenda than acting out of any real concern.

As an outstanding paid in full member of those who lean ever so slightly to the right it is clearly my duty to report the following. . . .

Fahrenheit 9/11 gets help offer from Hezbollah

The Guardian

The controversy over Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 just won't go away. The film, which is being advertised with the strapline "Controversy? What controversy?", has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America, meaning no one under 17 can see it. Distributors Lions Gate Films and IFC Films, opening the film next week, are appealing against the decision. The rating came partly because the film shows images of US soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners, images Moore says he had long before the scandal erupted. He told Associated Press he kept quiet because he thought he'd be accused of "just putting this out for publicity for my movie".
Anger at Moore is building up, too. Pro-military lobby group Move America Forward is campaigning to "Stop Michael Moore from profiting in his attacks on America and our military"; Michael Wilson is making a documentary called Michael Moore Hates America; and the website www.moorelies.com is out "to expose America's fakest pseudo-muckraker".

Meanwhile, in the United Arab Emirates, the film is being offered the kind of support it doesn't need. According to Screen International, the UAE-based distributor Front Row Entertainment has been contacted by organisations related to the Hezbollah in Lebanon with offers of help. All in all, Tony Blair must be relieved that Moore is not going to make a film about him; Moore rebuffed the rumour in a message on his website headlined: "Sorry to scare you, Tony. Michael Moore was just kidding."

Now we can sit back and wait for the usual crap from _blah-blah. . . . .

If nobody ever critisized their country then nothing would change. What has he said thats so offensive? That Bush has ties to the Saudi royal family? That Bush allowed the Bin Lauden family to fly out of America without even questioning them? Americans have the right to freedom of speach. Rush Limbaugh shoots his mouth off about right wing ideals. So can Moore. The only difference is that Moore is more intellegent and makes sense.

bc_bud @ Sat Jun 19, 2004 10:32 pm

regardless of whether you hate or love moore, he teaches you stuff you didn't know, and probably didn't want to know(conspiracies). I cant wait to see Farenheit 9/11. I have seen several of moores documentaries now, and although i dont agree with everything he says, i still respect him. the fact that he is overweight doesnt mean that he is a stupid pig.
