Native affairs
As an american citizen , I'm aware of the rather shamefull treatment of native americans in this country . I am curious to know what members think of the state of native affairs in Canada .

well my friend it may not be AS bad, bud Im ashamed to say it's not a whoile lot better either some times...Once in a while descrimination raises its ugly head
So I've heard , especially the report last year of a drunken native picked up by authorities and driven out into the styx and left in freezing temperatures to
" dry out " . What about Nunavut ? Seems to me that it's a fairly large chunk of land , and that the native peoples could get back to living in the traditional ways - is it a good thing ? As for discrimination and bigotry of any kind , it's disgraceful - especially in Canada considering the country's emphasis on multiculturalism .

Yes that incident happened in Saskatoon last year, as far as Nunavut, they have it made there. There are running their own show there, and now that a few companies have found and started diamond mining they are sitting pretty now..
I wonder which is more profitable , diamond mining , or running casinos ?
