Well, it is not for me (could get the same effect by a big game of hide and seek in the woods with friends.......so long as a hunter doesn't mistake one of us for a deer...lol). Regardless, I respect your right to do so and responsible gun owners aren't the problem.

Hey, I think I like you...... Nice to hear a comment from someone with a bit of common sence. I only target shoot, and have no wish to hunt either, but will fight for the rights of others to do so. They do more to help the wildlife here in Canada then most of the winers. The fee's they pay, go to wildlife preservation, as far as I know. And like my father said, there are more deer here in Southern Ontario now, then when he was a kid back in the 20' & 30's.

Here we go again, Remind me of the documentary i seen a while ago, called. Stupidity

"Left is stupid" says the right
"Right is stupid" says the left
"Politicians are stupid" says the stupid people

I don't like seeign that, Republicans are Stupid, or Liberals are Stupid..
I know it is quick and easy, but can we not find a better word to use?? That jjust goes to show Canadians are stuck on a moral High-Horse, little do we know, our horse is a pony.. "Our pony can pwn ur stallion"

Bashing liberals, for example, is all fun and games, but Liberals are stupid is kinda pathetic..

Now saying something like, Liberals tend to unwillinly corupt our nation, crippling it due to the lack of CF, the genuine beleif that pleasing as many as possible, regardless of cuts, cuts cuts adn more cuts, will benifit our country, or by bashing our neighbours to the south who we so depend on for economic stability. would still be harsh and not well backed up.. but it isn't as childish or hypocritical as "Liberals are stupid"

I agree with what you've said, and it was well put........... BUT!!! sometimes it just feels good to say it....... "Liberals are STUPID!!!"

I wouldn't hunt - I can't see myself actually killing an animal - but I'll help wrap the meat and cook it. ;)

I love target shooting with a rifle, but I really don't see the need for owning a hand gun. So far as I can tell their only real purpose is to kill people.

Well, I target shoot with my pistols, and it's alot of fun if you get into IPSC or Cowboy Action Shooting. A handgun is no more dangerous than any other firearm when handled properly. The main reason people think handguns are bad, is because they are weapon of choice by criminals, and that's because they are easy to conceal on your body. You should try target shooting with pistol, it's alot harder than you think, and takes a great deal of practice to get good with one. It's nothing like the stuff you see in the movies....

Target shooting is one thing, but hand guns were made for killing people, not for hunting.

Well..... If you check your history of firearms, rifles were first used by the military before the hunters got their hands on then, in other words, they to were first used for killing people. And another note, I know hunters that use to hunt with pistols, but thanks to the laws we now have, you can't, because they are now a restricted firearm...

Not to beat a dead horse, but I was thinking about this pistol thing, and really pistols were not invented to kill people, they were and are, a defence weapon. Front line troops carry rifles, and officers carry pistols, just for defence, and most officers these days in combat situations now carry rifles as well. Police don't carry pistols to "kill" people (not yet anyway), they have them for their own defence or that of others....

The only people in our society that "kill" will this weapon, are the criminals!

I agree. People deserve the right to legally own a firearm(s) if they like. I don't have a problem with them requiring a license or some sort of training though. Someone told me what we used to have in Canada (FASC?) was perfectly adequate. The registration is a costly joke that won't do anything to protect people from illegal guns or the criminals that use them.

On the safety note: Accidents happen, even to experts.

How not to run a firearm safety class for kids: http://www.snopes.com/photos/accident/gunsafety.asp

How many people think this guy still has his job doing this?

When I was a kid in the 60's, I could buy a gun anytime I wanted, after the age of 13 (I think) BUT, you could not buy ammunition, unless you took a hunter saftey coarse, which in my town, the town police ran. Also back then, my brother use to take his .22 target rifle to school and keep it in his locker, so he could shoot at the school range after hours. In case you didn't know this, most schools in Ontario built during the 50's and 60's have rifle ranges in the basements.... But they have been locked up for the past 15 years or so, because the powers at be see them a evil or something..... It would be a good way to teach these kids today proper firearms safety.....

By the way, the hunter saftey coarse I took back then, was almost the same coarse I took in the 90's to get my PAL.....YES this Gun Registration has been a total was of time..... But some dumbies in this country don't realize, the criminals don't register their firearms, just us poor slobs, and for what???

PS: I just looked at that link you had, and sorry but I laught my can off. Dumb jerk!!! Go thing he didn't hurt anyone else!!!!
