(I'm just as guilty...) I don't hate any of you (just hardcore Liberals), but it's nice to come onto a site like this and stir a healthy debate. Problem is that a lot of you cannot take the heat! When someone disagrees, you attack them personally, i.e. ("You're stupid", "You suck", etc.) Based off what? Nobody here knows anyone personally, so stick with the subject or shut up! Most of you Canadians seem to get your news and information from Al Jazeera network, or Web Blogs! (1.) There are a lot of networks out there that have only one agenda: Defame America (At all costs, with zero truth) And idiots believe it without verification. (2.) Web Blogs are sites that are "unfiltered" (so to speak), where anyone can make a webpage and put whatever info. they deem necessary, without a viable source.
Here's a perfect example of what I am talking about:
I've seen numerous posts degrading the American serviceman. Benefits suck, pay sucks, dying for no reason, etc. Does any Canadian know an active Armed Forces member? Not deserters (As they are a disgrace, and so very few of them) If you've only known one, that doesn't count for squat either (as you're not getting a good consensus). My point being is that if you were to ask the average serviceman why they volunteered, their answer would not be "for pay" or "benefits" but "to serve my country." And everyone of them knows that the ultimate sacrifice could be "death while serving." What other country has men & women like this? I know that just makes some of you cringe!
Most Anti-American people hate us for our govt. & democracy. I like to say we are a "benign hypocracy" which is true because most of our politicians are so out of touch with the average American. We don't hurt anyone, but get in our way...We're coming after you! Every country cannot stand their govt. to a certain degree. They're all rich & corrupt! Every country who has nothing but negative remarks or issues with America, is just as guilty or worse! I've always said, "It's a double standard (worldwide) for the U.S." We could literally burp, and another country would say, "you did it the wrong way." So all the little ranting & raving, rhetorical BS, using our history against us, the War in Iraq/Terror, the Bush Admin. etc. has been totally subjective. "Evaluate for what things are, not what you want them to be."
BigDubb You Are So Right That Was Such A Great Post
BigDUB is arrogant and ignorant. The way you people spew your hate on an website that mainly anti-American is disgusting. Why do you even come here if most of us TRUE CANADIANS can not stand you?
Hmm, let me get this, that one guy is ignorant, yet you in no way rebutted his arguement....if anything you reinforced it...
What is this TRUE CANADIAN that you talk of? Is it someone who is anti-american? If that is what you base being a true canadian on, then that is truly sad.
ComTech you are one of those people that sits back and thinks we care of you hate Americans
Your a nobody '''Son'''
I still want to know what possessed you to gop to a leftist Canadian website and then be arrogant enough to go to another Canadian site to start a thread complaining about the content there, apparently without really understanding what you had just seen, at another Canadian site.
While we're at it, I'd like to know why you come to this site. You hate everything we have to say so you yell and scream and stomp your feet. You have little or no understanding of what this site or its members are all about. You are ignorant and arrogant to come to a Canadian site to tell us that we don't matter, then get offended when people talk back and tell you to piss off.
It seems to me that you two are a pair of immature trolls, BigDub and AP. It also seems that you've bought into that whole, "My country right or wrong," load of crap. Not exactly the actions of thinking adults.
First of all, I don't find Rabble.ca to be an anti-American website. As a progressive American myself, I see how OneWorld and Rabble.ca are leftest, along with the NDP. The problem with the yankees in this debate is the that the closest to the NDP in America is the DSA, not a political party but an activist group. Yankees: NDP= New Democratic Party DSA= Democratic Socialists of America Yankees note that DSA IS Not communist any more than Bush is.
Now to BigDubUSA and American Patriot- as an American you are embarassing me. BigDub, you wrote that servicemen enter the military for country. That so? Why is such a disproporiate amount of the military African-American or economically disadvantaged? No, many many disadvantaged young men enter the military because our country does not give the multi-generational poor much room for advancement. Furthermore, military desertion is the most honorable and corageous act when the military action is internationally illegal and founded on lies and capitalist goals.
Antoine move to North Korea i mean you seem so outdated with your ignorant opinion.........It is sad that your from Columbus i live in Westerville man its scary to find that there are so soft core punks like you in my city
It's sad to see that the radical right in the US is so intolerant of a diversity of opinion.
Stay where you are, Antoine. Or, rather, go where you want and say what you like.
It's pretty obvious by American Patriot's (yeah right, like that kind of bullshit has anything to do with patriotism) response that he has no idea what your founding fathers envisioned when they started your country.
Thanks for your support Rev.
I am here for a while. As Rev mentioned our forefathers, it is important as an "AmericanPatriot" that you do stand by the virtues of democracy, freedom, and market economy. Now, you are telling me to move to North Korea because of what? Because I mentioned democratic socialists? Tony Blair, Bush's biggest supporter, is the head of the Labor Party. Visit their website, they are Democratic Socialists! Because I mention that desertion can be honorable? It can be, as many many of America's founders were deserters, avoiding debt and/or military obligations to the British Navy.
I am not trying to put you on the defensive, nor am I asking you to move to a communist nation. I am pointing out that you should live up to your name and at the very least respect my opinion as it coincides with America's key moral values! Telling me to leave is in fact un-American.
There is something very wrong here. This whole thing started because someone came here to vent on Canadians because they didn't like what they read. They wanted to bash a Canadian for being anti American. Now I don't know when, but somewhere along the line, some people think that when you try and be for your own country, whether it be Canada, Russia, Bosnia, Iraq, Mexico, or Afghanistan, or any other country, you are against America. That to me smells like fear. And that type of fear is ignorance and arrogance. Fear that one has to be protective of their country because they think nobody likes it.
Look here, everyone is proud of their respective country, and it seems to me, that certain people just can't let someone foreign have an opinion about their own country. I go thru this shit everyday. I am a proud Canadian living in America. I don't walk around with a sign on my chest. But when I get poked and prodded and pushed everyday at work by peoples words, I stand up for myself. I don't bash, or swear, or get disgusted and negative, I just let people talk their shit and I show them I am proud. I don't get mad and just tell people well you suck then. I go home to my American wife, and my American kids and I tell them what a bunch of idiots I work with. And we talk about how our two great nations are together, and how we can't live without each other. Ya we disagree sometimes, the same as Canada and America do, but the thing is, we don't start calling each other names. We don't tell each other our country is better than the other till be are blue in the face.
The chosen nation? With a destiny? We're all here together man, the last time shit like that was said alot of people died. Loko I've said before everyone cares for their own nation first, but I think its wrong to tell your neighbour how to think, or hate them for how they think.
I could go on for hours with this thread but I think I'm just gunna go puke. Nuff said.....
