To My Canadian Friends,
Today, I received a call informing me of the death of my dear friend, Kurt Johanson.
Kurt came to Georgia, from Canada, to pursue a career as an IT professional and was working on getting his American citizenship.
Kurt was an excellent Oracle DBA, and a damned great friend.
Kurt was as honest as he was kind. Kurt could be counted upon to go above and beyond as an employee and a friend.
Kurt was one of those rare individuals that didn't shy away from telling the truth about any situation, but always did so in a manner that never ruffled the feathers of those that may disagree.
God bless him, Kurt never lowered himself to play the office politics that are so rampant in American corporations. For this alone he held my admiration and respect.
Kurt was exceptionally intelligent and used that intelligence to help those around him.
I cannot express adequately in this post, the great admiration, respect and love that I have for my Canadian brother who brought with him a heart as big as all outdoors.
Today, I have lost my brother, Kurt Johanson. But, I have not lost the things that he taught me, nor have I lost sight of the great land that produced him.
I'd just like to thank God and Canada, for raising such a son as Kurt Johanson. I am forever in your debt.
