CTV recently lost Mike Bullard, as he moved his Canadian late night talk show to from their network to global. In response, CTV acquired the rights to show The daily show instead. The numbers are completley in favour of the daily show, with 317,000 viewers vs Bullards 87,000. THis is one of the few places you'll see me cheering on an American vs a Canadian... Bullard just sucks compared to Stewart. The daily show is probably the funniest show on TV right now, me thinks.

Stewart is good. I found that I lost interest in Bullard's show pretty quickly.

Somebody claiming inside knowledge once told me that Bullard is a lot funnier in person but that the networks won't let him get too political on TV. I have no idea if that's right or if this person actually had inside knowledge, but it is possible. Neither CTV nor Global are known for their hard-hitting political humour, after all.

Bullard isnt funny, his guests suc, and all his jokes are about Canada and USA vs Canada type issues.

How the hell did he get on tv and how the hell has his show lasted this long?

I have to tell you I wondered myself how he got on tv. I have yet to figure it out.

I cant argue with you all, but I have caught a few snippets of his monologue (I usually cant last more than 5-10 minutes) right at the start, in which he plays off of the immediate audience in front of him.
Those can (and I emphasize CAN) be hilarious.

I think he is best as a sort of a Canadian "Don Rickles", from Sudbury.
