Not really. It's a college. Everyone says stupid shit at colleges/university. Hell my old roommate did drugs out of his room, so you're still going to get fuckwits. He isn't targeting Canadians. It's within his own country. It's the closest material to him, why not use it? That's like saying John Stewart and Stephen Colbert target Americans. They use them because it's to most readily available, which makes Mercer's little stint in the states more suspect.
