If you want to pass through a country's airspace, play by that country's rules.

I'm sorry but no country needs the personal information of everyone that is simply flying 33,000ft OVER a country. This is just more American BS. How the fuck does the US having my personal information protect them any when I'm flying non-stop say from TO to Jamaica?
2nd question. Is this "agreement" reciprocal? Will the RCMP or CSIS be given the personal info of any and every American that flies over or into Canada?
Somehow, I have very grave doubts about that.

Hijackers could certainly take a plane just flying over the US and divert it to the nearest WTC. So I don't really blame them for wanting that info, tho I don't see what they will do with it. Will they deny permission?

As for us getting theirs, doubt if they have any problem with it, more that we probably don't really want it.

I don't see it being all that effective. They want a passenger list 72 hours before a flight leaves. But what about those that buy a ticket after the list is sent. Or those that fly stand-by?

Maybe they'll tell us we can't sell any more tickets after the list is sent.

A country's airspace is treated much like it's international waters. If you were on a cruise from Halifax to Jamaica and passing though U.S. territorial waters, the U.S. Coast Guard would probably want to know who was on board.

As for the RCMP and CSIS getting personal info, I would hope they do already.

Those will be the ones for extra screening.
Flying stand by is pretty much dead anyway, and this will probably kill it.
