More accuratly, you should read a book not printed in the US for a change. The US doesn't give a ratsass about anything but the US and you know it. Try to get a book printed in Canada or Britan. I don't blame you. It's not your fault your country is to concieted to ackknowladge others.

Actually, I read this last year in Grade 10 History. I'm taking World History right now. I'll be taking American History this summer as a reach-ahead course. Last year in history, i got a 87% average without really trying.
Like I said, read up.

I think the American History books are more whitewashed than most nations. America takes so much pride in their history that they leave out the bad parts and embelish the good parts. Hell as far as Americans are concerned they invented, discovered and created everything in the world.

And in a way, it did. We saw the colonization of the Praries (the slogan for it was "The last best west".). Also, we saw huge economical development. Involvement in the two world wars, the Korean War, and many other combat situations. We saw Canada resolve the Suez Crisis and develop Peacekeeping. The 20th century did belong to Canada, you just can't see it. ANd if you think I still have a textbook from last year, you're a bigger idiot than I thought you were.
As for world History, would it interest you to know that we owe civilization to the Mesopotamians/Sumerians? And your cherished American democracy to the Greeks? Haven't reached the Colonial era yet. Still working on the Roman Republic and how it became the Great Empire. And as for this summer, I'll be very interested as to learn about your country.
