nothing like a bunch of ignorant city slickers to try tell us properly trained gun owners how dangerous and evil our hand guns are. watz up with dat?

Listen up zippy. I was taught, nay TRAINED how to shoot and care for my weapon by my brother. A retired MWO in the CF. He didn't even let me fire a shot until I could take my rifle apart and assemble it again and showed him I knew how to carry and store it safely. He taught me how to clean it, with the threat that if he ever had to tell me it needed cleaning, or it wasn't stored properly and safely, he'd take it away from me.

Quite frankly, I'm a little disturbed at the mentality of someone that thinks they have the right to blow away someone that is trying to steal their stuff.
If you think someone's life is worth LESS than your car, or home electronics or wallet and contents or whatever, regardless of how low that life may be, I really have to question how reasonable you actually are.

Lemmy, of all the people here, you have been the most likely to cast personal comments at people. Sure I've made broadsweeping generalizations that may have insulted or offended you. But you have outright called me a number things including 'idiot'.

When did I call you an idiot? "Most likely to cast personal comments"? Are you off your meds now?

ASLplease ASLplease:
I am sure you dont see a difference. I do.

So dont preach to me about healthy debate. I dont think some of things you write qualifies as healthy.

Let's deal in specifics instead of the your tantrum ramblings. You tell me, specifically, what I've said that you feel is unfair and I'll be happy to either explain myself or apologize. But your childish hissy-fits aren't furthering the debate any.

all you anti-gun guys are ruining this website. I'll bet that canadaka traffic is falling whenever you go on your rants abut it.

Of all the things you've said in this thread, that's the dumbest one yet.

I've also read that when people talk about restricting pistols, God kills a bunny rabbit.

geez, i have to go on the record and apologize to you, Lemmy. It's been someone else that used the "idiot" word earlier on, and he's still up to no good.

I dont think I have the right to blow someone away for coming up to me and demanding my wallet, but I do have the right to say "No"

I dont think I have the right to blow someone away for running away from me with something I own.

However, when someone comes at me, not in a bar but in a more private place where there is no assistance for me, with the intent to do me harm....I have no way of knowing if he's going to punch me once, or continue to punch and kick me until I'm dead. In that case, I believe that I have the right to blow the f#cker away,

And frankly, if you are so naive to not understand the difference between catching me on a quite evening stroll and sucker punching me in a crowded bar, then it is your own red neck stupidity if someone shoots you in self defence.

ASLplease @ Fri May 07, 2010 5:12 pm

If you want to punch me in the face, then join my after work hockey league, I promise I'll even drop my gloves before swinging back at you.

My living room is not a hockey rink. If you are in my living room your motives are entirely different, and so should my response to you.

I think a properly stored handgun in a lock box with a trigger lock, owned by a person that fits in with any working/professional crowd....... you think some street punk with his pants down around his knees yelling " yo! mo fo! I'll cap yer azz!"
Whohooo dude, look back, way back.... I think you are beginning to have some backlash from all the stuff you have done to your mind. Most of us have no problem with a
$1:
properly stored handgun in a lock box with a trigger lock, owned by a person
that is (and I will go over this slowly) licensed, the firearm is registered and used properly.

What the opposition on this forum seems to think is that members of the general public should be allowed to carry on their persons a handgun, in public. That is a far cry from having a licensed, locked firearm in the possession of a licensed owner that is taken out and used in a licensed shooting club.

Curious. The guy that kicks your door in at 2am, will he wait for you to open the lock box and trigger lock?
