Who cares what America thinks?
China has shown no indication that it will go to war outside of Asia though, Johnny. About the only thing that could lead to a shooting war would be the disagreement over Taiwan escalating out of control. Seeing as how Taiwan, China, and the US have all decided to poke each other in the eyes over that, and the general dearth of leadership on all sides, that could happen.
Would that constitute China attacking the US? Not bloody likely. That means it isn't a NATO issue...they are required to defend members that are attacked, but foreign adventurism, whether you agree with US stance on Taiwan or not, by member states is not covered. The UN isn't going to be picking sides either. Given the USA's poor reputation in the world today and the growing power of the Chinese economy, I wouldn't be counting on too much help from Europe.

All three are doing military exercices right now. China has vowed to retake Taiwan before 2020. It is in the US interest to make sure that doesn't happen. What I don't understand is most of our goods are made in China. Why have one of your top potentiel enemies to built your goods. If China decides to end its exports and go to war. The US could be between a rock and a hard place. They could help defend Taiwan, but not take China. As of the North Korea, a lot of cities have no electricity right now. The US promised nuclear power plants (or an alternative like maybe a wind mill network), they should deliver one soon, before the poor koreans revolts. They might be under a Communist regime, but how long before something snaps. We don't know the propaganda their government is spreading overthere. "Hold on guys, the Evil U.S. promised us a power plant in exchange for
whatever crap they feed the average Joe. I think the U.S. have too many theaters on their plate. They did promise a Power Plant to the North Koreans if they stopped they
Nuclear Energy Research. North Korea has stopped more than once. And the U.S. has not kept their word.
Rev_Blair Rev_Blair:
While you're doing that have a look at the PNAC website though, and check out their list of White House contacts.
Done! What do you want to know?
Back to the Chinese... They developed a new high powered nuclear sub. It is in our best interest to keep an eye on things over there. Strategic planning.
Also back to the "hypothetical war with China"... 'Mano y mano', we'd run out of bullets trying to shoot up a billion man army! We'd have to start throwing rocks. I'd worry about their Navy. They'd worry about the B's humming over their skies! BOMBERS!
Once America falls(sooner the better) China and the EU will take its place as super power and unlike America they will actually do something good for the world. BigDubUSA you need to shutup and stop posting your hate. I am so sick of you Americans who think you have the right to post such crap. Ever hear of the saying "if you do not have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all?" Perhaps you Americans should learn that and follow that thought. We are sick of you American constantly saying nasty things about Canada and good things about your horrible country. We don't care what you think about your country nor do we care what you think about our country. It is plain and simple, our country is better then yours no matter how many lies you put out. STOP STOP STOP.

Our economies are so intertwined that it is some times imposable to tell where one ends and the other starts. Other factors like the Transportation system (rail) between the two nations, the auto pact, Hydro, exports, soft wood, fish, are long standing agreements that make up a large part of both our economies and could not Easley be applied to other countries. Yes we should be looking for new partners but the fact is for better or worse we BOTH depend heavily on each other and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Wishful thinking! As much as you would love to see us fall...Never going to happen!
Best economy, military, world influence, atletes, capitalists, job market, products, consumers, education, healthcare, social services, ideas, politics and PEOPLE! And the list goes on...
Com, post yourself on our boarders and try telling this to the immigrants as they flood in, (the ones you claim hate us so much) but want the opportunity to take advantage of everything listed. The ones that You & Rev claim to be amongst the worlds majority of disrespectful opinion towards America. Are they hypocrites? Dumb? Or must have had a change of heart?

Hey Comtech... I know what you are trying to say, but you are using the wrong approach. There is great Americans, along with Great Canadians. Also, there is right wing extremist in both countries. CKA is forums is about opinions from all sides. Lets them post, present your views, but don't take it personnally. The WHO has the best country can be a matter of perspective. Between you and me, I think that this country is second to none (I hope I got this expression right). For an American that believes that they should have a paw everywhere in this world, to be an American would be second to none. The U.S. have a great military power, and are using it. How they are using it is what gets my blood boilling. They liberated the Afghans from the taliban and then left. Except for Kabul, the Taliban is winning this war. Janes has made a few articles already. They should have finished what they started before going into Iraq. Plus, the Iraq war was not over and Bush was making announcements that he was going in Syria; also a big oil producer. We all know how this ended up. Anyway, the fall elections should be interesting. The Iraq problem will not be fixed after the next elections. Iraq is way too divided. It doesn't matter anymore if WMD and and Human Rights were an issue. The Americans started something that may never be fixed.

I really feel sorry for you, I do. I Disagree with Rev_blair, and we obviously have a different point of view, so I won't argue with him, although believe it or not, I do think he makes good points and is a smart person, just don't agree with him, but I can still respect his opinion, even if it pisses me off haha. Now, you on the other hand are just a hate-mongering person who needs to follow there own advice. You're ridiculous with your attempts to piss people off and you arrogant nationalism.
Also, I don't think America is going to fall, I just think the world is going to turn into a more multipolar world with China and the EU showing up on the scene. I can't believe a Canadian of all people would want the US to fall....do you know how dependent you country is on the US? The US is also dependent on your country, but your country makes ALOT of money from the close trade relationship with the US. The global economy was already hurt by the US economy slowing, so if the US was to fall just imagine what would happen to the global economy.
The US will fall though, Johnny...all empires do. The US is showing all the signs...militarily over-extended, disliked by most of the world, deeply in debt...that point to the fall not being that far off (50 years or less, most likely).
The thing is that the fall can fast and brutal (the former USSR, Roman Empire etc), leading to much strife, or it can be a slow fade that causes major adjustments to be made (British Empire eg), but remains relatively orderly. To achieve the slow fade version, the fall has to be recognised.
By refusing to understand that the US is failing and has put itself at risk of that failure being brutal and fast, you encourage that fast failure.
Very few people actually want to see the US fail, I certainly don't, because the repercussions of even a slow failure are going to be tough to take. The signs are all pointing to that failure though. Refusing to recognise them is just fiddling while Rome burns.
I see it different. The US is too big of a country to not play at least some roll on the international scene. What I see happening is that the US is going to lose it's dominance in the world. I think the European Union will be the next superpower, but the US will not suddenly fall into a 3rd world country, I just see it losing it's power and just being another wealthly country. I mean when the Soviet Union fell it started to lose states and had a failed system, while the US is flexible. First thing that needs to be gone is Bush. There have been times in US history when debts have run high. The US, superpower or not, has always been a pretty rich country, it's just in the past 50 or so years it boosted to superpower status because the rest of the world was still building up, while the US didn't suffer damages of a major war. The Roman empire was not held by international law in the same way the US is. The Roman empire was in some ways the same, and in others different, so just because they fell doesn't mean the US will. I mean look at countries like China or others which have been around for centuries, which is how I see the US falling. I don't see the US just disappearing from the globe, or shrinking, just losing it's influence and power. I agree that all empires fall, but not all fall the same. I think the keyword is multipolar, in which other countries keep the US in check and put a damper on it's power, while the US keeps them in check back.
I think you people forget that the US does still have alot of markets in it's country and still produces alot of goods which keep it's country going, plus there are still a good amount of resources in the US to keep them producing stuff. Now oil is another subject, but the US is not just some wasteland with no resources or business's to keep it's economy afloat.
No it won't just disappear...becoming a "third world backwater" is a possibility though. It's much more of a possibility if it is not recognised. It's much more of a possibility if the US continues on its current course. That's what makes the Bush regime so dangerous. They are willing to fiddle while Rome burns because Nero remained a rich man, actually got richer, when that happened.
Everything from the housing price bubble, to the debt, to the lack of willingness to begin switching from fossil fuels to alternate energy sources points to deep problems in the United States.

This coming from a secular point of view.... How many decades have we heard this now? "One world, One nation!" You underestimate America, like many others who thought the same as you. Where are they now? Outlived by America, and six feet under or living in an oppressed society! Oh and don't you mean when "The World" switches from fossile fuels to alternatives? Last I checked, every commercial airline in the world was still using jetfuel, and many countries still driving cars that use gas. What about Canada and her usage of the great natural gas? We're willing Rev, so quit saying we're not! And you'd better start including the world as a "collective whole."
