Now that the "CKA News Links" seems to be doing fairly well, I want to try and get back into having regular on site content written. What I mean is having people write articles that would be hosted on this site rather than having links to other sites. CKA News Links would still be the main focos of the front-page but a new list woudl be made to the newest articles.

This is what we kinda tried in the past before the News Links system, but it was mostly a couple of members and myself copy and pasting articles from other news sites. Which is not what I want, I want fresh unique content.

A place for people with writting skils and something to say to be heard!

Kinda like the Columnists that write for the site www.canadafreepress.com. But that site is so horride.. so ugly ofl school and riddled with ads! I don't know how they got so many writters to write for them. I would like to get articles liek that on Canadaka.net though, and i would provide a much more user friendly way to format and submit the articles to the site. Other more policital sites like www.vivelacanada.com get people writting articles as well, and I see it as a logical next step in Canada Kicks Ass's growth. Its best to keep visitors on the site rather than link to another site.

The articles wouldn't have to be news stuff, could be anything really, tere would be numerous categories.

I'm not really in a situation to pay people for writting right now, but they would get CKA points, and i'm thinking I can have a different ad system ont he article pages and whatever money that ad generates over a time span the author gets. Also its a good place to be heard and see, the author would get full credit and a link to there homepage if they have one.

The System is already in place has been for years, I just am going to make some modifications. add some ads and more categories. But its totaly ready for people to start submitting things.

Now there are 2 types of writtings for the site, Content and Articles.
thats how i call the seperation for lack of better term.

Commentary type writtings, news, current events, opinions.
Old articles

I still need to spruce up the Article submission form, so its like the Content form. I think the fancy form only shows up in Internet Explorer though. If you use firefox you might wanna use IE to check out the form, its a lot nicer to use.

   

also in the News/Articles, before it was mainly used for posting news. But now its going to be more commentary, articles.

So the current categories don't really make sense.
So need input on new categories for articles.

   

This is really awesome count me in! I was actually thinking about doing something like this for my own website one day for people who want to be heard. This is really cool!

I think that you should make it so that the writer has to give 1-2 articles a week or something. Just to give them some motivation (I know I need it). If you do not succeed you will loose some credibility or something. Content is a little bigger to do though therefore, I think that it should loosen up when it comes to the rules. It would also be cool if there were an option where you could add a little picture to identify yourself with (like in newspapers and magazines). Just some ideas!

   

I just have one request for submissions. Pleeeeeeease use proper English, spelling and grammar whenever possible. Using Caps and periods is a good thing.........the rest of the world isn't a chat room.

   

once i get a couple submissions i will re-organise the front-page a bit to feature the articles.
