http://www.canadaka.net/modules.php?nam ... pic&t=4490

the Gold member features will grow, it is still a brand new thing.
Basically you get a gold maple leafe baside your name, so everyone knows you are gold. and there is no advertisments on the site, so the site loads faster. You get 10 topics in the recent topics list on the forum index. ..like I said the list is growing ;)

Only need one more for one for each day of the week

I was wondering what kind of traffic we are talking as far as bandwidth goes, I am thinking of starting a site, and if it should (prays to the gods) ever get anywhere near this size I just want to know what I would expect to have for transfer, I will understand should you not want to let me in on this info, lol :D

Canadaka @ Tue Mar 29, 2005 3:33 pm

over 100GB a month of bandwidth

acidcomplex @ Tue Mar 29, 2005 3:43 pm

yikes id have to pimp myself for at least 5 years to host that, good thing i have a 6 year head start, Guess Id better get cracken and start my new site, my current site only has 7162 views since Jan 30th,2005.

 Be scared, Be very Scared!! , here I come, lol :)

canadian1971 @ Tue Mar 29, 2005 3:49 pm

*sigh

*Canadian1971 breaks out the WD_40, and a 10' lever to try and pry his wallet open.

Son-of-a-bitch, I'm stopping at the 7-11 tomorrow to get you a money order....I'd write you a check, but due to massive marijuana comsumption over the past decade, I'd probably forget all about it and leave ya playing basketball!

P.S.....I hope this "donation"  will rid me of this annoying, "annoying medal" that was bestowed upon me!

Canadaka @ Tue Mar 29, 2005 4:14 pm

hehe, its a lot of work running a large site, and it doens't get easyer. And badwidth is expensive, I host my servers at Peer1 networks, which is one of the best, but is not cheap. $1.5 - $3 per GB per month.

hehe oh im scared XD
(CKA can do that in an hours) ;)
keep up the good work! and feel free to add a link to Canadaka.net on your site. linking is a big part of increasing google rankings. Even having your link in your signature in these forums will help.

hehe do you want to get rid of that shinny medal? well we will see what happens ;)

THat seems kind of expensive. I know you get what you pay for though. I use monsterhosting and there servers are screaming fast. Not as if your going to switch hosts now but there deciated hosting (I would assume this is what you have) is not that bad considering you get 1200 gig transfer with the package for about 349

Canadaka @ Tue Mar 29, 2005 4:58 pm

i own my own servers, one of the reasons why donations are needed badly right now. I can't go on anything else than dedicated.

There is lots of cheaper bandwidth providers our there, but Peer1 is one of the best and fastest. Also they are in Canada, and i want the site hosted in Canada.

a lot of thos advertised pacakges there is a catch, it just can't make financial sense to sell that low. companies do get desperate though and do this, it hurts the hosting industry. A lot of these hosts don't last long.
