I have some plans to improve the CKA Gallery, thought i would post them and get some feedback.

The comments on pictures have pretty much become a second forum, so i was going to improve the commenting, make it slightly more forum like.

Secondly i want to add a bunch of features for Canadian Models. To allow a model to create an account where they can manage there own galelry, name pictures, write desciptions. And have a profile page attached to the gallery.

Canadian babes weekly showdown, 2 selected pictures go head to head for votes for top pic. pics can move up the all time roster (number of wins) users can nominate pictures for showdown, comment.

more plans to come, will update on any progress that is made, but with my time limited may take awhile.

I agree with all those changes. There should also be a new pictures section, updated daily or weekly or something.

   

what do you mean by this? like a listing of the newest upload pictures?
there is a link at the top of the gallery called "Top 10" that has the latest 7 uplaods and some other lists.

Don't the galleries with new pics have the little 'new' logo by them already? If you're being uber picky you could set the 'new' logo to go away after a couple weeks. Just an idea...

   

there is 2 new logos. one for a pic uploaded within the last couple days, and one for a "newer" upload, something that is a week or so new.

   

What more could we need? I vote that a separate gallery is unnecessary because new pics are already labelled. It's a waste of time that could be used for uploading! Woohoo!

   

I recommend a gallery of pics of the Canadian flag in various places around the world.

Pics of people with our flag on the tops of mountains, in front of famous buildings, at famous landmarks etc etc.

Pics of our flag with our troops in Afghanistan, Haiti, etc etc.

And not just pics of the flag that you can Google. I mean pics of members/Canadians with the flag in these locations.

There is the Canada Day gallery, that i hope to get going good this year. But i liek this idea, i think i will add it!

   

hmm after making it as a sub gallery in the Patriotic Gallery, i realised thats basically what is in the patriotic gallery is pics of people and the flag. so i dunno if a dedicated gallery is needed

I have inproved the commenting display in the galleries.

alternating row colours
displays if user is "gold member"
users total gallery comments
users location

   

For those members who frequent the CKA Galleries, you will know that the comments on pictures has become like a second forum! there are almost 20,000 posts now. So I am slowing improving the commenting system, making it more forum like.

Ii made this new page that gives a summary of new stuff in the galleries, including the latest comments.
