In an effort to make Canadaka.net more of a news portal for Canadian related news I am looking for dedicated volunteers to post news articles.

They should be able to update the site daily with the latest news around the 'net. They can paraphrase existing article sin there own words, quote a bit of the article then a link to the full article, or simply post the link.

The point is to get multiple new posts per day so you can check Canadaka.net for all your Canadian news, kind of like the Slashdot for Canada.

Those who help out can be promoted to co-admins and can earn points for discounts in the store. This is how most news portals work, I simply do not have the time to update the site everyday multiple times! I need YOUR HELP!

could be post like that on my friends site http://www.stoofoo.net/ or http://www.shacknews.com

basically there is a daily post with a bit of commentary then a bunch of links with a little description.

I could take the time out of my non-existent schedule to do this. To prove my ability to create a link and speak English, here's an example.

TORONTO -- Hundreds of horrified commuters watched Wednesday as police staged the dramatic takedown of a man who took a stranger hostage outside the city's busiest train station at the height of the morning rush.

''I was dumbfounded. I didn't believe it. It's what you see on television. It doesn't happen in real life,'' said Susan Cormier, who works in a stockbrokers' office.

On another note.... on the top where it says
>> Land of opportunity, sharing, trust, safety, and equality. Vive le Canada! || When I\'m in Canada, I feel this is what the world should be like.

You seem to have put an extra \ in there to cancel out the ' (I'm pretty sure that's what happens, my php is very rusty and was never good to start with).

I would be happy to help, and eager to let everyone in on my opinion, but this site is so slow to load, I usually give up trying to post anything. Maybe because I use Firefox as my browser?

Canadaka @ Fri Mar 25, 2005 8:02 pm

slow since when? it was deadly slow a month ago, but since the new server couple weeks ago its been zippy.

and the site is fast in IE/Maxthon, firefox and opera

well for news help, you can just start submitting links on the frontpage any time. there is a big link "Click to submit news" at the top of the frontpage.

please be sure to try and choos an appropriate catagory and select if the news is Canadian (puts the maple leafe beside it)

Non news links like funny and strange sites are fine too, there is categories for this. but don't submit links trying to promote your personal site.
