I really must protest.

The little pic on the start page is so small you can't even tell what it is. As Trevor said though, the gallery draws the crowds. SO unless you want to pay a membership fee, the pics should stay. If someone sees a pic on the start page, that will draw them to the gallery, increasing advertising.

That little thumbnail? Maybe I'm missing something, but I haven't seen anything there that wouldn't make it on TV and the picture on my TV is a fair bit bigger than that.

I ignore things that I don't want to see on my television everyday. I have no problem ignoring a thumbnail on a website.

Some of us have children that are intrested in the computer .
They have eyes and really don't need to see this type of thing.

On the front page was a picture of a totally nude woman with her hand jammed into her crotch. The pic is called faw008.jpg. Granted, she is a rather ugly in a mannish sort of a way woman, but a nude woman nevertheless. I'm going to give it a couple more days for folks to get it straightened out, then probably leave as so many seem to think that naked ugly women are preferrable to lively debate.

and 90% of it is GREAT stuff! Gets traffic? No doubt!! But there IS some real nasty stuff on there and shameless plugs for porn sites etc.

This is a privately run site and Trev is the boss, the gallery just might be better with a little more class in my very humble opinion... You know just a little moderation. But hey, it is working the way it is, right? Generating Cash?

If you have a real problem, and cash is the hang up, bribe Trev with the difference.

Here's an idea fig...bookmark the forums. That way you never have to go to the front page where the naughty pictures are and can still take part in the discussions...kind of like buying the braiile version of Playboy.

Nope...it really was for people who wanted to read the articles. The Moral Majority yelled and screamed until government funding was cut though, and blind people were deprived of the magazine.

I know the gallery is in need of some moderation, there are some ugly pics, unfortunatly there is no way for members to moderate wit h the current gallery code. and switching to a different gallery would loose all the current commetns and pics counts act, and take time.

When i have time i might try and figure sometihng out, like a link the you can click that emails me a message with the picture name and you can specify why it should be moderated.

As for the frontpage random pic. it pulls a random pic from the whole gallery, I am willing to other change it so it pulls a pic from all galleries except the babes gallery, or remove it all together.. would inscrease page load time a tiny bit too.

I don't know, maybe I'm jaded, but if there's something I don't like to look at I just don't look. There are some pics that arn't the greatest and maybe show a little too much, but I don't think it's a problem. I think your Idea Trev about a link for people to tell you of a pic that offends would be a good thing, but other than that, close your eyes Fig.

Maybe another suggestion for Trevor would be to have two galleries...
As you have a very wide userbase I think this could be a very reasonable solution for everyone..

a canadaKA Gallery ( for general pics of landscapes, famous canadians, canadians in general, etc, etc)

and The canadian babe Gallery... Then I don't have to go into this area because it will be obvious where I will be going...

then he can run a script from the general gallery( for the random pics and no one will be surprised...)

I also think the babe gallery should need registration to view... after all it is adult content...

one more question... why should I have to bookmark the forum area because I am a woman with children present and don't wish to see 18 year old children posing the way they have ...

If you gotta be a 'babe' ( if that is what you call that as your way to get attention - in my school days your were called other things...), then so be it but don't force it on to every one who happens upon this site...

BTW- i am glad my 10 year old son didn't find this site when he was doing a school project on Canada

I personally think everyone is being a little [whatever]. None of the pics are actual pornography. Maya, your 10 year old son could walk into a 7-11 or any grocery store and buy either a Maxim Magazine or a Stuff Magazine. Both of which are sold to anyone of any age at any store. That is where many of these CKA gallery pics come from.

I would agree to not having the babes section rotated in the random pictures thumbnail. They are already in a seperate gallery, so its easy to avoid them.

for now until i decided what I might do further I have taken off the random picture from the frontpage
