Question: Do you plan on doing what you did before with the randomised logos except this time in place of the mountie-girl?
oh yah for sure, just akes some time, I have to remake them all since thre a new format.
I also will post a PSD file and let anyone else create one, if it looks good I will put it in the rotation.

Also kinda miss the Home button, if i ever wanted to start from the main page again. Or is it there n i just don't see it?
There actualy wasn't a home button for awhile, the "news" buton takes you to home, ot you can click the CKA Logo, thats what I do. I could replease "news" with home.

No worries, he will remove them once he's finalised the code.
Yes, the ad at the top of the site, bottom and in the gallery are still gone. The others will be removed shortly.... but what to put in that large square ones place...

As for gold members, what about something like....Canadian comic strips or....Something canadiana? I'll have a think on it lol
I would love to add that for everyone, but the problem is finding a comic to syndicate there work. There is some other white space near the bottom right of the front-page, I have some plans for content there in the future.

Are you moving the "Recent Topics" box Trev cause mine has disappeared all together....

can't get to 10,000 posts without it.

Ahh, much better, recent topics back at the top. That is all I needed. LOL
Cheers Trev and it is a good look!!

When I have favourites open, which is always, the page no longer fits and I have to scroll left/right to see the whole page.
Just got my new laptop, so going from a sketchy 10 year temporary monitor to my brand new TruBrite LCD, and now the new look, is great!!!
One thing though... the recent topic list on the main forum page has a new font that's really thin... some of us
don't have the greatest eyesight, so can this be made more, um... beefier?

hmm I guess i could make the links bold there, but I think overal the links on the rest of the site look better not bolded.

well close them

hehe
if a large amount of people have problems with the new wideness of the site I might do something... but a lot of sites on the net are this wide. I could allow people to specify if they want a thiner site and it could save a cookie, that I could check for, if found, would make the width 800pixels. But then the news links on the front-page would get squashed up a bit.

Perfect now
That was the only place I had trouble... thanks!
EDIT: oops, I spoke to soon... it's back to skinnyfont.
Looks sharp Trev.. it was a little crowded before but has cleaned up really nicely. Not bad for a nights work eh?
I don’t like it. It has a lot more space and such but to me it looks messier. I didn’t care the for the style you had on the CKA gaming clan and the canadianhottie.com websites and I was hoping that canadaka.net wouldn't stoop to that level as well. I do appreciate the sharpness though at the top of the website, however the bottom looks too much like a homemade website and in my opinion I would label this website "Unfinished". Once again, I do like the sharpness but I believe it is still too messy and scattered around the page. At least the cramped style was more "cozy" if you will.
Anyways, just my opinion!

you are certainly entitles to your opinion, I totaly disagree though, I think it looks much more professional, and much less like a phpnuke site, even than before.
When i was making the new design, I put a bunmch of IF statments in the code to check if the new theme was selected. So I could allow people to use the old theme and everything should still look normal. But the focus would be on the new design. I am working on making more thinks centralized out of the themes, so I don't have to maintain both themes when things are changed, like the advertising.
So I soon will allow people to choose which design they want for there account. The default will be the new design, but in your account settings you will be able to choose to use the old one. This will only work for registered members and if you are logged in. Guests will always see the new theme.

Thanks for all the comments people have given here and in IM's, it means a lot, even the negative ones
I say leave it on for a week or so because it may just take some getting used to. I do see how you think it is much more professional - honestly I do. Especially the navigation part of the site. However, I think it will need to undergo some editing. I must say I very much appreciate your time and commitment in trying to make this site better and I do like the "professional" rout that your taking. Keep up the good work
thanks
the menu navigation system is going to be redone a bit, its still the same drop down lists as before, so without the other side menu, many parts of the site have no linke atm. I will probably get to this tommorow.
and to save veritcal space, in places like the gallery where there is links at the top of every gallery page to different gallery pages, I will move these up into the blank space to the right of the menu, where the quote is now.
I will also make the quote that appears choose randomly from a selection I will input. any suggestions are welcome.
Overall it is well done. This is also one of the most easily navigated and best moderated sites out there. I do find the search function to be weak though, and I would definitely drop the no deep integration propaganda but other than that, spot on.
The new fonts you are using are much better...the more I veiw the site with this style the more I like it
I really hate the fact that I have to scroll down to the bottom right of the main page to see the recent forum topics. But, I'll get over it. But, I still hate it. But, I'll get over it.
