Would you like to see personal insults restricted only to a specific area of the forum ?

This would mean zero tolerance when it comes to insulting other posters, unless it's done in a specific part of the forum where it's allowed.

Ignoring warnings will could get a person banned. Temporarily or permenantly etc..

No...within reason. I think a little sparring is fine - I when think a legitimate topic degenerates into endless pages of 'flaming' it needs to be addressed quickly though.

   

I like the idea. Have a 'flame-fest' section that's sort of the exact opposite of the L X D forum where we can send all the namby-pamby, jerkwad, ignorant, dipweeds who like to make personal insults.

Honestly, if anyone thinks they are getting it too harsh, they can report
the post. Anyone can report a post from anyone else.



Then a mod can look at it.


I think that system works well enough, and I wouldn't want to change it.

Don't want to overtax the mods, don't want them applying
decisions based on one obvious troll who has swept in twice now,
and swept himself out just as fast.

People can find a wide variety of things personally insulting - everything from sarcasm to outright insults.

As was pointed out, this was tried after the big purge a few years back and petered out because of the difficulty involved of policing as well as interpreting what is an insult.

   

No. I can see no reason to insult another person. And I've been part of websites that tried experiments such as that, and all they left were ongoing hard feelings outside of the designated forum.

Direct personal insults aren't hard to figure out, even if it's eloquently written.

But as it stands now, it's the wild west so it's hard feelings all over the forums. Some of us have thicker skin and have been around for awhile. But you've probably notice the "Hello I'm new here" thread and that's about the only post we hear from new members either they lurk and never post or see something hostile and leave.

Either way just trying to make CKA a better place.

That's fine if that's how you really feel but you can change your vote if you want. This will give the mods an idea of what kind of support they would get for something like this.

   

I said no because I think the mods here do a good job of stepping in when things get out of hand.
