I would still give it some time. I bet most of the people who use it occasionally or more are still sleeping

Nope, never.

Me neither.

Sister and mother both tried it, but I've confined myself to only the finest single malt whiskies and a variety of bathtub wines...

I confined myself to Rye.

From the poll it looks like it is just a youth thing, as is being a Liberal

During the seventies the thinking was "its going to be legal next year anyway" never happened! The only real harm I ever saw from pot was being busted, I was lucky but a few of my friends have to go through hell when they go to the States, they spend thousands of dollars on lawyers and interviews. You have to renew every five years and when you cross the border the guards don't know if had 50 pounds of pots or a joint, it doesn't come up what the offense was, so they tear apart your luggage and grill you with questions. My bud he got caught in 1974 with a burning joint in his hand at the time he got a $75 fine now when he goes through the border he has to have his waiver in the same hand as his passport. Alcohol has claimed many people I know, drunk driving, suicide or a blown liver, alcohol is a far greater danger.

yeah  smoking doesn't kill.

DerbyX @ Sat Dec 19, 2009 4:24 pm

ASLplease ASLplease:
current count is 5 (actively using marijuana) to 17 not.

True but since my original statement was that well over half of CKA has smoked substantial amounts at least at some point in their life the count is 16 to 10 (counting Mr C).

That's well over half and as you see those who don't use anymore went on to lead productive lives (as are the people still using) without the gateway spiral into crack addiction.

Crack is a major no-no. Hell all of the "hard" drugs are major no-nos. I mean that is pretty clear right? Those drugs are just the free fall into oblivion. No one is productive for long on them. Right? I mean really.

You don't drink either?

I enjoy the taste but don't get drunk.

The 'weed is a gateway drug' argument has little merit.

Arctic_Menace @ Sat Dec 19, 2009 6:58 pm

It should be legalized and heavily taxed. It will also allow the cops to focus more on harder drugs.

Lemmy @ Sat Dec 19, 2009 7:09 pm

Pot should be legalized and NOT taxed at all. If you want it you should have to grow it yourself, or buy it like other plants. It should be sold in grocery stores, in the fresh produce department, right next to the tomatoes and garlic. There should be no government monopoly on supply. They should stay the hell out of the business.

Now I want to get high and play that new DJ-hero video game. I just saw the commercial. I'm gonna pretend I'm J-Rock. J to the r-o-c.
