Bollocks. Muslims in N. America are among the most well integrated immigrant groups in Canada and the US.

I have been to a few mosques now and all the people at them were very welcoming of me being there. As are most religious institutions I have been too.

Quebec is the only province with balls enough to tell it like it is. if immigrants like muslims want to come here they should be willing to fit in and not try and change the culture and customs of canada.. in Quebec we have to take steps necessary to protect out language and culture.. the numbers of immigrants is steadily increasing and in canada people need to ensure that the way of life as we know it in not put in jepardy by those who come here to take and grab and are not willing to adjust .. we are not bigots in Quebec we welcome immigrants but we will not allow them to overrun us and our way of life..

Funny that Quebec is worried about immigration and integration. I think they need to look at themselves first and how they "intergrated" with the rest of Canada. The few times that I passed through Quebec I came across alot of ignorance and arrogance from the locals. Parlez vous Englais doesn't seem to be in alot of their vocabularies. And from speaking to many of my British colleagues who have encountered the French-Canadians, they are of the same opinion.

to say that quebecors and frenchman are more bigoted than anyone else in the country is bigotry in itself. every area has a group or two with extremist views about immigration and integration Quebec, Newfoundland or Alberta is no different.

i wonder though if they arent reflecting what is becoming more prevalent in Canada.. the frustration of people with immigrants
who really refuse to integrate, and who furthermore want to change Canadian society
There is maybe a conflict between a vision of the past, where
everyone ( mostly white people ) integrated without problems..
we all spoke English or French, and the cultural diversity was celebrated in small pockets of the city ( little Italy, Chinatown).
That seems to have changed, and many people are not so welcoming anymore.....
and it will probably continue..

Oh we all know Canada is probably more bigoted than most countries considering our lack of assimilation and with that, many cultures keep their bullshit bigotry against all the other cultures. We were just lucky that we were so diverse that we didn't have that huge of KKK/Black Panthers groups that were very vocal about their bullshit.
