Over the past six months or so, I have become disheartened with some of the females I have encountered in Canada. The only member of the opposite sex I have met lately who was worth talking to, was from the UK. C'mon. Canadian girls show yourself. Prove to me that you are still out there, and that I shouldn't give up. At least tell me there are some girls left who watch hockey and listen to heavy metal.

awwww, too bad i can't help you out on this one! i wish i was canadian, does that count? I do love heavy metal and hockey though. But i warn you, you'd have to put up with me and my figure skating and soap opera fetishes!

s0meg1rl @ Thu Feb 06, 2003 9:25 pm

LOL so the only girls that are "worth talking to" watch hockey and listen to metal? No wonder you are having a hard time if those are the only things that make a girl worth talking to!

I used to listen to metal, Still do at times but not exclusively.

And I watch hockey if I am flipping thru the channels and see it, but don't plan to watch. The best part is the fighting anyway

Good luck on your quest! :D

Well Royal Highlander I resent this, as you know my husband and I have spent many hours on this site lately. So we're not all lonely hearts. As for the rest of you, stop trying to find the girl who will watch hockey with you and start looking for the one who will find something else to do while it's on so you can watch it. It works for us!! :D

I find it curious that there have been almost 30 views of the topic I posted - Questions for the girls , under the general category , and only one girl ( budderfly ) responded . If you are a canadian girl , why not post and describe what interests you have , and use the opportunity to tell guys what you think about anything . I also posted the topic , because as an american male , I was curious to know if there are any tangible differences between american and canadian women .

s0meg1rl @ Fri Feb 07, 2003 12:29 pm

Well I didn't reply to it because the way it was written It seemed more like you wanted us to tell you the difference between us and american girls, which would be soley done on opinions not fact... and also very difficult

However now that you have stated you wish to know what some of our (Canadian Girls) Interests are and such, you might get a few more of us replying :D

I believe that there are some subtle and not so subtle differences between the females of both countries . I have been told by american guys who have traveled to other countries that they do see a difference in women of different societies , even in England . I noticed differences myself when I traveled to Israel when I was in the navy . In any case , like budderfly said , everyone is different so it's difficult to discuss differences . However , canadians have at times defined themselves by saying they are not like americans , so I was curious to see how canadian women might characterize themselves . By all means though , talk about whatever you like , and approach the post in any way you are comfortable with , it's all about people talking and learning and hearing different opinions .

hEY BUDDY, WHY DONT YOU COME UP HERE FOR A VISIT?? ILL SHOW YOU THE TOWN... AND MAYBE INTRODUCE YOU SO SOME OF OUR BEAUTIES

electricbuford @ Fri Feb 07, 2003 4:55 pm

If I came up for a visit , I'm guessing I would not want to return to the u.s. . I've been invited up to the great white north before , and might do it when finances permit . By that time , the loonie will probably be worth $ 1 .65 u.s. . Anyone want to adopt a slightly used yank with low miles , and equipped with many exciting options ? I COULD hide myself in the rockies , and maybe see if I could get raised by a pack of ( canadian ) wolves ( ha , ha ) On a serious note though , with the way things are going down here , I wonder if Canada is going to be inundated with americans wanting to make " the switch " like John Bender .

blubs @ Sun Nov 30, 2003 12:08 pm

Heavy Metal and hockey? Man that cant be right. I must be getting old I can just see Stomping Tom singing the hockey song to the beat of heavy metal music. I worked with an American girl on the the show WCA . To me there was not much of a difference 'cept' see said 'you' all a lot. :)

Indelible @ Sun Nov 30, 2003 2:43 pm

old, maybe, but it's ok that heavy metal is not ur style...i like metal but i also really enjoy alsmost all music but pop shit and '80s can't stand those...but i guess that belongs in another forum eh?
canada's really diverse and so are some of it's people.
