Kind of disappointing actually. I noticed the "I Am Canadian" slogan is gone. Did a quick google search, and sure enough, Globe and Mail states it has now been changed to "It Starts Here"

Am I being old school, just echoing the article, or anyone else feel kind of diff't knowing a Canadian company merged, and the first thing to change is any reference to being a Canadian drink? Commercial is all and good, but...I dunno.

First time poster, so be nice :)

To me, if they are half American then they shouldn't be able to say "I am Canadian". I'm glad they don't anymore, but i wish that they were still Canadian because i loved the I Am Canadian comercials (see my signature)

here's a thought , maybe it's cause 1/2 of canada is not canadian, so PC it will be, so sad.

Its so dumb. The only set of good commercials on. I think that they should have kept the old slogan. Who says "It starts here"...?? We should all do the Canadian thing and write an angry letter!

Well, slogans come and slogans go. Wendy's didn't stay with "where's the beef?" forever, at least I think that was Wendy's.

There was an online poll in The Globe and Mail prior to themerger which showed something like 38% saying they'd not drink Molson products if the merger happened, 26% would continue to drink it and the rest didn't drink Molson to start with. Rumour has it they've been losing market share since the merger as well but I haven't seen any data to back that up. (not that i've looked all that hard). If the poll results are a true indication of sentiment, it would be product suicide to keep on with the I Am Canadian adverts.

The truth is Coors bought out Moloson

WildMoose @ Sat Mar 26, 2005 10:18 am

That's an odd thing since Molson is the more stable and profitable of the two, or rather, was

I never really drank Molson. Its not good enough that I'd drink it regularly.

Can we say BOYCOTT.Write to your M.P
One good thing Canadians are good at
Let Molsons know just what it means to be Canadian.
What a bunch of "Turn Coats"
Maybe we should have a Toronto Beer Party..dump all molson products into Lake Ontario.
What Molson's have down is equivalant to turning our Canadian Flag
"UPSIDE DOWN"
