My wife Katherine is a living donor, and today we got the word that all the tests and all the BS she has had to go through over the last 10 months has paid off... we got the word today that the operation for her to donate one of her kidneys is going to happen on the 4th of May.. which is only a few weeks away.. She is a terrific lady and for her to do this so as another person will have 20 or so years of quality life is awsome.. I knew when I met her she was special but now I know for sure... She is a giving person and did not hesitate to say yes when she firts found out she was the only match to do it... Ill keep every one posted as it preogresses...

That's great RH. Sounds like Katherine is a very giving and decent person. Take good care of her.

I used to give blood all the time 'til they got so restrictive about it. I'm still on the unrelated bone marrow donors' registry.

Rev_Blair @ Thu Apr 15, 2004 9:36 pm

They won't take my blood or anything else. The best I could do is check the medical research thing on my driver's license. I'll give when I'm dead, I guess.

Hang in there bud, sounds like you got a hell of a woman.

Good luck to you and and (mostly, really) your wife, RH. It takes a big set of stones (no offense) for her to do this. It takes a big set (I know you won't take offense at this ) for you to support her too.

Let her know that the rest of us are cheering for her.
