I have been wanting to get in on my back between my shoulders. My step dad has like 16 tattoos, and doesn't have much room left. I would love to get it...but I have an allergy to pain (hahaha). That'd be a cool pictures section "Canadian Tatoos" and members could send in their tatty pics and people could submit designs.

I have a Canadian flag on my left calf. Funny, whenever I talked about getting a tatoo when I was growing up, my mother would say "Over my dead body!!" Turns out she was right. I waited until I was thirty-six and she had been gone for two years. :D

I've got nine tattoos. My most recent one was just added on Sunday afternoon. And yes I too do have the Canadian flag proudly on my right upper arm.

If a guy with not much muscle were to get a tatty, where would be a good, non-extreme-pain place to put it. I asked my step dad (who has them everywhere from his chest to arms and now his back) and he simply replied "Don't be a wuss :D" Where do you people think doesn't hurt as much?

Go for the upper arms, stay to the outside. It really feels like a cat scratch. Just think of where it hurts least to get a scratch and you will survive.

whats the point in getting a tattoo if it doesn't hurt? just as the most valued lessons learnt in our lives are the ones that have caused us pain, because it is this pain that etches itself in our memory and spirit and reminds us how fragile yet magnificent individual beings we truly are.

So I say embrace the pain and make it an ally and not a feared enemy!!!

oh and I am thinking of getting a maple leaf on the inside of my left wrist 8)

I have a few and really they aren’t that painful.
I got mine done at the age of 17 and that wasn’t yesterday.
I am thinking of getting another one done on the heel of my right foot
“Made in Canada.”
My wife is less than happy. my daughter loves the idea and might get one like it

If you want to get a tatoo you should think of what image you want and still like the idea at least a few months after you thought of it. This isn't like buying a t-shirt. Plus, what you like as a teen wont define who you are at thirty. Remember all the skull tatoos of the 80's? Then everybody got a celtic arm band. Now it seems like every girl has a little tatoo on the small of her back (then complain when people look at her ass). How original is that? I think a tatoo should define your personality or background. So if your not chinese, dont get your name in chinese lettering.

every single tatoo I have has a special significance at a certain point in my life

I know I will never regret any of them for they all remind me of a certain period in my life

I would love to tell you that I got my tats because I had put a whole lot of thought into it.
But the fact is one is a gang tat and the other I was drunk and got it so my buddy would see that it didn’t hurt and he would get one as well.
Please keep in mind that there were other factors involved the least of which was a bottle of scotch and a few good hits on some Panama Red.
Also I was 17 and thought it would look cool. Oh yes those were the days.

I went a designed the tattoo I'd like to get. It is my initials (DMP) coloured like a Canadian flag. The maple leaf exetends a little to the top and bottom of the M. I think it looks kick ass.

I've also decided probably to get it between the shoulder blades on my back. Wouldn't be too bad there, I've fallen outta a tree and scraped the (*&^ out of my back there and, sure it stung, but I was fine. Tattoo, here I come. I am thinking maybe winter break. That way my school backpack won't hit it.
