Just a demonstration of your inability to learn Canadian history; so you think others should be deprived of the facts. Canada is governed by the politicians assuming power and not by the people giving the government a mandate to govern them. Power corrupts and by the way the government continues to assume more power it wont be long before the people will revolt.
