P1000376.JPG [ 355.32 KiB | Viewed 237 times ] I am new to this forum and hoping that somebody may be able to shed some light on a photo of a cast iron sign found in the upper Fraser River near Tete Jaune Cache. It is along the present CN line, previously the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. It was also close to the head of navigation of the upper Fraser River where stern wheelers used to ply the waters hauling goods and freight for the new communities around the turn of the 20th century. The sign is cast iron, approximately 5 1/2' long, and the letters are just over 5" in height. The edges of the letters are bevelled. One local historian has suggested that it possibly could have come from one of the old steam locomotives built by Toronto Locomotive works circa 1855. However, I believe that the 'Toronto' locomotives had the James Good Toronto Locomotive Works sign on them. Anyway, if anyone may have any ideas, I would love to hear them.
