WTF. The Super Hornet was the best, most cost-effective option! We could have gotten three times the amount of Super Hornets than the other planes, and it wouldn't be a stretch for any of our pilots/crews to get used to them.
Keeping the F-35 in the running (with it's single engine) especially with the costs involved is idiotic to say the least! The Saab Gripen is an impressive and powerful plane, but again has only ONE engine. What the hell are the feds thinking? (are they even?)
Canadian military procurement is a freaking joke!
-J.
Third-rate country insists it needs fifth-generation fighters, even though it can only afford to buy ten of them. Meanwhile military personnel are told to extend the life of their regulation-issue socks & underwear by at least three more years because, boy oh boy, you bet that cuts to the basics are a-comin'.
Oh, and this isn't a joke BTW. It how the government actually regards the Canadian military.
I want to rep you, but I can't

Send your pocket change to the army instead. They clearly need all the help they can get. This country sometimes. Fight all those wars just so seventy-five years later Canadians can turn into a bunch of insincere virtue-signaling bullshit artists.
Sigh.
At least Saab made a good offer. Their planes are more reliable than the Edsel that is the F-35 and they’re even offering to throw in a service package.
