Just thought that I would drop you guys a line here as I had the chance.
I've been here for almost two weeks now and well things a going just fine. I don't have a lot of time but here's the down low.
Food's OK
It can get fairly hot during the days and it's only Feb.
It's so dusty out side that your nose has a tendency to crack and bleed at short notice.
The PRT gets bumped every time they leave the PRT Camp (That's in the City)
We live in a small city of Military people only, who are always armed or you won't get served, and it owns a airport.
This is definatly the most fun I've had in a while
The bottom line is that I love this shit.
Cheers all
PS.
You have to drink a few for me the camp is DRY and that's not the Weather.
Glad to see you are enjoying that is awesome I would say. Stay safe.
Dry Camp?? Superbowl weekend?? That doesn't mix!!
I am always willing to pick up the slack when other fine soldiers can't partake.
Stay Safe and Good Luck
Hey man, glad to see that they gave you internet access
keep us posted

Gunbunny, wait until May or June! You are going to need SPF 50 or more if you are fair skinned! Drinking lots of water I hope. I personally drank between 10-20 liters of water a day when I was there.
Good luck and stay safe!
Good to hear from you and stay safe!
Wish I could be there with you. Do us proud!
Glad to hear everything is going well, Gunbunny. Keep posting updates!
Good to hear from you, GB! Stay safe and keep in touch.
Hey there everybody thanks for replying.
It's kinda hard to let you know what is going on here without breaking the rules of OPSEC.
You wouldn't believe the conditions the Battle Group here is living in. We started out in Mod tents 8/9 to a tent. That wasn't bad but we never had power or heat for the evenings. The reason that we need the heat in the evenings is because the extreme temp drop at night. Then last night we went and moved into a tent that holds aprox. 200 people and oh ya we still have a gravel floor but we have power and heat tomorow. This tent is supposed to hold all of "C" Coy 1VP/ 1/2 of the Battery, and all the other ATS & DETS. What worry's me is somebody getting sick and passing it to all in this HUGE ASS TENT. Then I find out today that the Army in it's infanate wisdom has aworded the contract to build our hard shacks but they won't be able to fufill the contract to compleation for 120 days. If you think about that, that mean that we will be moving in around late May or June sometime and we will be comming home soon at that time. You can't tell me that the ARMY didn't know we were coming for at least a year ahead of time. Any way that's all for now. Let everyone back home know that moral is high and we are doing some good down here.
Cheers!
OH and GO SEAHAWKS.
You're doin' us proud. Keep up the good work.
Don't sweat the Log/Constr clusterf**k. It hasn't changed in many many decades and will continue long after we're gone. It isn't as important as the job you're doing. Keep your eyes on the ball.
Come home safe.
Sorry to tell you, but it's too late for your Seahawks.
I really don't follow the NFL but I always cheer for the underdogs in sports I don't follow
