SprCForr SprCForr:
So you're saying an average US Army Ranger is more effective than an average JTF-2 Trooper? Your comments are based on what, exactly? Can you explain why our regular Combat Divers (they are not SF) are able to function on par with SEALs? So how is the JTF-2 training model (adopted from the SAS) inferior?

they are not SF.......???? how

They are Regular force Sappers who occupy normal postions within a Combat Engineer Regiment. They get nailed with Kitchen Duty, Regimental Duty Driver, and all the BS that every other troop has to fill. The difference is having completed a Dive Course (run by the RCN) and been validated by attending and succesfully completing the Combat Diver portion run by Engineers. They would then become a member of a Dive Team, but those teams are only manned when tasked, so until needed they're doing regular same old same old Regimental duty. They are entitled to Dive pay provided they remain current.

Know about CSOR yet? We're jumping on the "SF" bandwagon now by forming the Special Operations Regiment.

Here's the first part of the CANFORGEN:

FWIW, I'd recommend changing your implied mindset and start correcting your personal shortcomings now. Oh, and PT, till you puke, and then even more.
I'd also thinking about dropping any references to illicit drugs and other things of similar vein. I think you'd find that the CF (particularily members of the Combat Arms) is not real tolerant of such activity and of those who condone it.

But maybe that's just me.

Every former "super power" that came before said the same thing and as in your case they underestimated their opponent.

If your talking about being a Combat Diver, no, you won't. Going by the quality of your posts, I figure you won't be getting past the piss/blood test in the recruitment phase. Saying it ain't going to make it so.

Ummm, did a synapse or something misfire? This insightful and cutting comment belongs to what subject, exactly?

Well considering the fact that our population base is less than LA, NYC and Chicago, how big a force do we need? Budget wise the same. How do you know that we don't equip our force to the same extent as say Delta? Since our unit is smaller we don't need a budget the same size as the US, logical right?

Want to drop this line of discussion?

i havant got a chance to reply in the last few days....but i read on cbc that the JTF2 get 25 million a yr....im not sure on the exact numbers the delta force gets...but it is more...as for the special forces thingy....they r special forces....again, in cbc's website they also said that.....

Tricks @ Sun Jun 18, 2006 6:16 pm

So relying on money makes the soldier? It is the skill of the personnel, not the equipment that makes them a fantastic soldier.

The Combat Divers are not SF. They aren't part of JTF-2, they are a part of the regular Combat Engineer Regiments. Check the organisation of a Combat Engineer Regiment for yourself.

JTF-2 is SF. There may be Combat Diver qualified individuals on those teams. There will be dive qualified pers on those teams. The JTF would train their own pers for their own specific needs. A difference you should be able to grasp with your knowledge of US Special Forces. Just because a troop might be dive qualified (like Ships Diver or Clearance Diver) doesn't mean he's Combat Diver qualified.
CBC as the source on the CF? You're kidding right? Their budget numbers are pure spec. I'm suprised you didn't know that.

My knowledge of canadian forces is pretty good, but i know alot about US Special Forces..........therfore im pretty sure im correct

Actually, I think it's pretty lousy.
