Waaaa
More attempts to "dick measure". It'll never end.
We made no distinction in WWII for who recieved the various campaign medals. An infanteer in the Black Watch recieved the same 39-45 Campaign medal and NW Europe Star as the clerk in the 2nd Corp did.
They are all on the ground over there. They are doing their jobs towards a goal.
Exactly. It's a misguided attempt by some in the Cbt Arms to make themselves stand out from the rest. Way to kill the team spirit with the "us/them" mentality.
FWIW, the Capbadge and unit slip-on does exactly what these whiners are crying about.
Peter Worthington nailed this today in the Sun.
Maybe he was reading our posts Spr? lol
Goofy Idea Could Sink Morale
All that really matters is at the end of the day everyone knows exactly what he/she did or didn't do on tour! No need for anything more.
Bang on brother.
What if we issue a campaign medal and a medal for first combat kill? Thats what the Americans do.
Mabey not.
Nah,....No need for a combat badge "medal"..... I think a theatre of operation medal for all whose physically serving there is all that's needed.
I would think all members of the Canadian Armed Forces presently in Afghanistan have more work to do related to this war they are involved in rather than debate about getting an extra piece of brass on their shirts.
