Hello out there current and ex canadian forces members. I was just going to ask the question if any of you have any old kit that you have laying aroung. Maybe some OD Pants, Jacket, Boots anything. I'm in Army Cadets and I'm looking to pick up some gear to wear on our FTX's. So if you have some stuff you want to get rid of, and dont plan on charging too much, then post in here, or PM me. I can also be reached at [email protected] which is also my MSN addy.

Again, thank you.

there must be an army surplus store in regina no?

what regiment r u? rank? tell me a little more about your cadet experiences.

i'm an ex-cadet, aged out, then i was a CIV for a little while before i moved to calgary

what you definitely need is a half-shelter, the kind that zips 2 together, though u only need one.

you will find many uses for it especially when u r a senior.

webbing is useful to have too.....south african is the best i hear, cdn webbing is crappy unless u get the new stuff which is unlikely

Well as you can see, im 16, I joined kind of late, but i definentley dont regret it. As of right now, I'm a gunner, 2370 RC(Army)CC. We have a string leading into summer camp.

I been in since October 05, and jumped rank pretty quickly. And my weekly uniform rivals that of most seniors. But I dont want to brag lol.

There is a few surplus stores here in Regina, but I really feel they overcharge, and if I can get kit cheaper, then I can get more :)

so you're arty eh? my cadet corps was arty too, 2296, Lethbridge.

if you've been in since october what does this mean?

please explain

i joined when i was 13, i moved up the ranks at a fairly normal pace...

As you know, usually takes a year to move up a rank. I moved up in 3 months. Could have been sooner if I would just just gone to talk about with my training officer.

Regarding uniform, my boots are shinier, my creases crsiper, beret looking better. Just all the little things that other cadets in green/red start just aint doing.

ohhhh, i thought u meant qualifications....icic

what camp r u going to this summer? CL?

FuBaR @ Wed Mar 01, 2006 5:43 pm

Yeah, I'm taking CL at Vernon.

ps. i used spray starch on my light green shirt to get the crispest crease ever. use lightly on the rest to help prevent wrinkles. also, try using it on the flaps of your pockets to make them stiff too. that looks real good, just don't iron it too long or the starch will burn and the shirt will turn brown.

careful about using spray starch on tunic and pants. this might leave white stains and someone might get the wrong idea! lol

lastly, use a damp cloth when ironing tunic and pants, this will prevent them from gettng shiny.

lol, i didn't sew the hem in my pants but instead i duct taped it on the inside where no one could see it and ironed the heck out of the bottom to make it look crisp like a hem

i hope u have fun. i didn't go to basic when i was 13, i went to CL when i was 14 and that was my first time. it was tough!

i got lotsa stories about vernon!

I donated all of my kit to the Cadet Core. I held on to a few items that I still use though.

I've got some stuff laying around....but it's probably too big for you....what size were you looking for? No charge...but you either have to pick it up or you pay for the shipping. PM me for details!

FuBaR @ Wed Mar 01, 2006 7:39 pm

Well, my size its like a 33x35-36 pant. And footsize is 11. Or it is for shoes anyway.
