Since all the facts aren't in yet,I'll withhold judgement.Still, I'm very disappointed because Rush has been my favorite band for aboot 20 years.Something I've always admired about them is that they're never in the news for the kinds of things other rock bands are known for like trashing hotel rooms,drunken brawls,beating the crap out of their wives and girlfriends,drug over doses, and trouble with the law.Of course there have been instances of police overreacting and or needless brutality - but Alex lifeson is the wrong color! course he is Canadian and when the cops heard his accent they may have thought he was a potential terrorist- thus the need to use a stun gun.All in all, quite the bummer -especially after all of Neil's tragedies in recent years.

I'm sitting here in complete awe (shock and awe??). Not because Alex Lifeson got arrested, but because someone (Evan) asked WHO he was!

Rush is an national treasure (also awarded the order of Canada), yet there are some Canadians who don't know who they are.And Rush has been out of the limelight,(pun intended) for a long time.Apparently a helluva lot of folks in Rio, (See Rush in Rio DVD) that know who they are,and there are quite a few yanks down here who still think they're the greatest.

Has anybody heard or seen any updates on Lifeson's arrest? Last I read,he was out on bail and facing the possibility of 5 years in jail without possibility of parole.Rush was supposed to celebrate their 30th anniversary this year with a tour.I haven't seen them in concert since their 1996 Test for echo tour,and was looking foward to the possibility that they might do a show somewhere around this area.Guess that ain't looking to good in light of what's happened. :cry:

Rush rule ! Thanks to seeing Rush in concert at Sheffield City Hall in the United Kingdom nigh on 25 years ago, I am now a big fan of all things Canadian, especially the music. To the extent that I'll be jetting out to Toronto this Thursday for a fortnight to immerse myself in Canada and Canadian music. During my journey I will be travelling up to Napanee to meet my e-penpal Steve Medd, musician extraordinaire and THE guy who gave Avril Lavigne her first recording break on his two CDs. The highlight of my Napanee trip will no doubt be at 8pm Saturday March 13 Napanee Royal Canadian Legion when I attend a music showcase to promote the next wave of Nap musical talent so...if YOU get the chance...check it out ! Especially Stephanie Trott - she's a brilliant singer ! Paul Allonby AKA Quintefan.

The tickets for their upcoming tour only just went on sale yesterday. All three venues over here in England are sold out!!!! I even tried in desperation to book a ticket for Toronto. Sold out....but got an email back saying they were getting 200 more tickets...at $250 a piece! I wonder if the band knows or cares about this bit of blatant piracy.

I Wembley Arena in London is advertising that its getting more dates for Rush (at this point they're only playing there Sept

so I'm hopeful. The compliation cd "Different Stages" is fantastic.

I love Lifeson.. one of the best guitarists out there.. only one i know of that can sound like 2 people by himself on stage.. ANyway.. heres a winter tip from Rick Mercer and Geddy Lee, with some of Alex's guitar in the back . This is for all you floridians up here this winter... just in case you go tobogganing..

Oh ya..I almost forgot.... A toboggan is a SLED...
