Well if she's on fire you can bet the production will be well done.

My son wants to go to an alexisonfire concert. I've checked out some of the music, and while it's not my taste, it didn't seem too bad.
Does anyone know anything about this band? Actually, not the band so much as the concerts. Are they suitable for a 13 year old, who will be supervised?
Will he want to Mosh?

More than likely.

I guess I'm more worried about *who* goes to these concerts... are they reasonably safe? That sort of thing. I know there's security but.
Well are you familiar with what moshing is?
As for the people..... should be alright. Especially with supervision.

Yeah, I know what moshing is.

He'd likely want to do it but probably won't.
Thanks, Tricks. You made a kid happy.

Haha. Nice! Hope he has fun.

It's the usual punk/metal crowd, but Ok nonetheless. It depends on the venue too. Looking at Ticketmaster I see it's at the PNE forum. They have good crowd security there so if your boy decides to mosh he won't get hurt.
Hope he enjoys the show.
And Lily, you may not like the band your son is going to, but the lead singer has a side project which is much more palatable to parents.

They played the Ottawa Bluesfest this year and a couple of years ago. The band is very talented but not my thing. I have been involved with the security for that event and had little to no problems at their performance.
The biggest problem was the size of the crowd but the crowd itself was not so out of control that any extra precautions had to be put in place.

Yes, if the band and the lead singer would get rid of that retarded screaming guy, I'd actually enjoy listening to them.
Unfortunately, I think that's their "thing" that makes them unique.

I think that the maturity level of your teen is a more determining factor than his age or whether he will be safe at the concert as it's his maturity that will keep him safe and enable him to come away with a positive experience.
As for the screaming singers...Billy Talent and System of a Down come to mind.

Normally I'm not a fan of screaming, but I really like Billy talent. There are a few that I like.

I'm with Tricks... the screaming in Billy Talents stuff doesn't sound so ridiculous to me.

I'm the other way around. I love Alexisonfire, but I can't stand Billy Talent.
