I still say Avril could kick Britney and possibly Shania's ass. I may not be a fan, but my $$$ is on the skater (how come I can spell it and she can't?) chick.

Brittneys lover Justin reffered to Avril as the "next Cindi Lauper". I dont know if she took that as a compliment of not.

But what I really like about Avril, she is one out of a few Canadian singers that still show their pride towards Canada.

I'm also Avril-Fan, she's great and I think the best evidence therefore is the ECHO she gets yesterday in Berlin.

Avril comes from Napanee, just up the road from me. Until recently Avril was an aspiring country musician, a Shania wannabee. In fact, Shania even brought her up on stage once. Now there's another great Canadian country musician, she lives abroad and doesn't sing country anymore, but she's a great Canadian country singer according to the Canadian Content rules. Have I mentioned that Canadian music is more politics than music yet? Well, it is, but I digress.

Avril. Napanee. Good old N.D.S.S. Avril's high school. My niece goes there. They hate Avril there. Mommy and Daddy bought it all for her, then she claimed she did it all herself. New body parts, songs bought and paid for. She's as real as naugahide. She's hype folks, soon to fade.

Have I mentioned that Canadian music is more politics than music yet? If the damned government would keep it's meddling hands to it's self the industry in Canada might straighten out, but with the CBC and it's "who you blow" requirements for attention and the friggin' cancon rules that make sure only Anne Murray, Shania, and a few select others get played it doesn't matter how good a Canadian artist is in Canada, he hasn't got a chance.

I am a songwriter and I work with a very good singer named Brian Dolph. His music is extremely popular in parts of Europe and is becoming so in Australia and Japan. He'll probably do a tour of at least Japan this summer and is hoping to do Belgium too. You might never hear of him again. He isn't political, he's just a damn fine singer. Phone any country music station in Canada. They should have a few of his songs. He tried to play their games until he got too damn sick of the Canadian attitude to bother with them anymore. The last time he thought of releasing a single in this country the promoter he approached told him point blank, "You'd just be wasting your money. The big labels have told the radio stations not to play anything by any independant artists unless they are already so popular they can't avoid it." It's payola all over again. Oh, oh, oh, Canada.

Man, Avril Lavigne makes me so sick. She's totaly fake. Her and her whole attitude, style and songs are all manufactured. Anyone who lookes up to her, or is a fan of her's is blinded to what is actualy going on. And don't think for a second that the TOOL Avril, won't be sold out to the States as soon as she gains enough of a pre-teen fan base.

umm dude when will u get it through your head that avril fans won't change their minds no matter what u say of thing of her. all us avril fans in the world think what we want about her. haters are just ignerent and ignore the real facts they beleive everything they hear!

Actually I don't really like or dislike her. As modern music goes, I'd rather listen to her than most of them. She's certainly better than Eminem and all that sort. At least it's music that she puts out.
