Avril's new single !

Avril's new single "Don't Tell Me" is now hitting the airwaves so dial up your local radio station ! Also...she's going to be doing "surprise" acoustic appearances in various Canadian towns and cities (+ border hopping in2 the USofA). According to her record company, her next LP (showing my age !!) is due out on May 25, as yet untitled. Bon chance !

Avril is manufactured like New Kids on the Block or Britney Spears. SHe couldn't give a straight answer to who wrote her songs.

the simple answer is if you read the credits, or know the people,
That, Avril Gave her opinions and feelings on a song, the songwriter would then put together a song, they would read through along with her guitarist "evan" and decide on a final version,

You can like any style of music you want. I dont want to trash anyone who likes her. I just wish there were more options out there. It seems that record companies dont take a chance on rock bands because they want sure hits. They look at the market, see what 17 year old girls are buying and target that audience. Thats why we get the same stuff over and over again. You dont get too many challenging albums anymore. They would never release Sgt Peppers today.
Plus I hate it when people like Avril claim to be something they're not. SHe may have a good voice but she is no artist. An artist creates something, writes music. She doesn't write her music. It's always with someone else who does the real writting.
ANyway, if people like her thats fine. I used to like Duran Duran when I was a kid. It's just that there are very few bands that are exploring new ways to make music.

I see, your from Napanee so you know everything about her. I dont know anything about her at all I'll aggree. I just dont like her music. Dont take offence. Did you read the rolling stone article about her? The question of who writes her music was left up in the air. Just because she gets partial credit on the album doesn't mean she wrote the music at all. She proably writes the lyrics.

she co-writes all lyrics, apart from on cover songs, lol
and no she doesnt write the music,
she is not that much of a musician,
and actually i dont know her,
my sisters friends with her sister (michelle) so i am kinda getting to know her sis,
but yeah i know alot about avril, shes my hometown hero

Cool. It is good that Canadian acts are breaking big around the world. I hope that these big Canadian acts help support other smaller talents from Canada.

Yeah....glad you're not fighting anymore...I don't care if Avril writes or not, she has a great voice, in which I can blend with, and I love to sing her songs!
