I'm looking for a Great Canadian Wedding Song and I'm hoping you all can help. My girl and I have been looking for a wedding song that is a little different than the norm. So no Celine Dion! We've tossed around some Hip songs, like "Long Time Running" and "Wheatkings" which are nice. A friend suggested we use "She Fu@king Hates Me" by Puddle of Mudd... so as you can see, I need something better.
She's a beautiful girl, and deserves a beautiful song.
Any ideas?
I'm listening to Lyle tonight so how 'bout "That's No Lady, That's My Wife" by Lyle Lovett and his Large Band?
Hmm this is a tough one.
i really like Long Time Runnin by the Hip
Of course there is Shania Twain - From this Moment or You're Still The One
Chantal Kreviazuk - Surrounded
Chantal Kreviazuk - Before You
Great Big Sea - Can't Stop Falling
maybe something by Sarah McLachlan
April Wine - Only Wanna Be With You
April Wine - Like A Lover, Like A Song
something a little diff like Sarah Harmer - Open Window
Bryan Adams - All I Want Is You
Can't Stop This Thing We Started
I Think About You
well pretty much the majority of his songs are good wedding songs
and its not canadian but i have always liked U2 - all i want is you
Hey this is great! There are lots of songs suggested here that I have never heard or long since forgot. Now let's see what the wife has to say.
Check out some of the Blue Rodeo tunes..
See what the wife says???!!! Get a spine and tell her what you want to hear, it's your day too. Don't let her push you around either, that just starts a bad precedence. You just stand up to her and demand your say.
OH, OH, gotta go, my wife's coming..........
My husband and I had "Feels Like Home" by Chantal Kreviazuk. We have really loved it for a long time and just last night we watched "How To Lose a Guy in Ten Days" and it was on the movie. It still makes me smile, it was perfect for us.
Good Luck and Congrats on the wedding!!
Try "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica.
We had "Lady in Red" by Chris Deburg, "Once, Twice, Three Times a Lady" by Lionel Ritchie and "The Power of Love" by Jennifer Rush. Her version of The Power of Love is the best one out there, make Celine's version sound like a talent search. This was 16 years ago so that kind of dates things. Anything by Chantal Kreviazuk would be great, she has a fantastic voice. I've seen her perform live 3 times and she really doesn't need a microphone, sings to the back row too!
Not hard on the eyes either.
So did you pick a song yet??
