Two best bands to ever come out of Canada!
Agree or Disagree?
I'm not the biggest Great Big Sea fan, but Our Lady Peace is one of my favorite Bands, there awsome!
But my favorite Canadian band still is, and always will be, The Tragically Hip
I love the celtic nature of Great Big Sea,, I also like Rush too. (earlier stuff)
I will tend to agree that Our Lady Peace is one of the top bands. It seems like every other day I have "Siupermna's Dead" stuck in my head. But personally, I don't think anyone can touch Tea Party. Whiel stuff off of their latest album is pretty good, if you listen to ansy of their previous CDs, their use of unusual instruments from around the globe is phenomenal.
*everything is bleak, its the middle of the night, you feel like a jer...* oh sorrry, ummm... oh ya, what aboot OLP's new album, anyone here have it?
*GASP*! OLP who are they!?!?!?!?
Ever heard of "clumsy", "4am", "thief", "Automatic Flowers"
You need to download/ buy some of these songs STAT!
I agree 100% on olp. I've been a big fan of olp's music for a very long time. There one of a few bands that I listen to that I almost like every song that they've every done. I'm a little disappointed in their new album as it seems that this album was more concentrated on radio friendly songs that could be used to break the band in the US. Overall though, it's not a bad album.
As for Great Big Sea......I honestly have to say that I'm not a real big fan of there's. I've seen them play once and they put on a really good show. But, as far as my opinion goes, I can't say that they are one of the best bands Canada has produced.

I LOVE OLP, And Great Big Sea Has Some Very Cool Songs Too!! lol
OLP are great. But call me old fashioned, Barenaked Ladies are #1.
I don't LOVE G.B.S., but I did see them at snowjob...they put on a good show...really got the crowd into....never really cared for O.L.P. though....
I never hear anyone talk about Skinny Puppy. To my knowledge, they came out of Canada. They were before Marilyn Manson and NIN, and I myself am not a huge fan of "goth" music, but they did tons of samples and distorted vocals and are considered a cult band. They influenced marilyn manson and nin, but were WAY better. You guys should check them out, but keep an open mind cause they are an aquired taste. I do believe they are Canadian also, just doesn't sound like alot of the stuff that comes out of Canada.

Best way to listen to album is to light up a fat dub and have an open-mind.
Personally i do like GBS but The Hip are by far the best. Also got to check out Sam Roberts and The Hip together last October in Dallas and Austin. Awesome show, got pics.
