Now I will listen just about anything music wise, but have always had a hard time with opera. Probably because I don't speak Italian or German I also never watch these Idol type shows. If we got this show here, I would watch it in a heart beat to hear this guy sing again.

That was just AMAZING.
No kidding, it brought a tear to my eye when I heard him sing. I was expecting William Hung and got Andrea Bocelli - and this guy was better than Andrea Bocelli!

I noticed that he said on a couple of occasions that he has a confidence problem. If these examples are with low confidence, then I want to be in an audience on a night when he sings with confidence! The roof will cave in.

I agree. I watched this again and I am utterly flabbergasted that he isn't singing opera professionally. My God, he is just amazing.

I just watched several more of the You Tube videos with this guy and noticed that Simon Cowell is consistently nice and positive and encouraging to this guy - something you almost never see.
Simon said Pott's album is being recorded and I honestly cannot wait to buy it.

It seems Simon was generally much more positive than he is on the Idol show - I'm guessing the blunt disparagement isn't as appealing to the format of this show, or the target audience.

Or maybe it's that most of the Idol contestents suck. Especially when compared to Potts.

That he did not go to such a school is a crime. It truly is.
