hey there folks.....

i am compiling a playlist of modern songs with mandolin in them, in the rock or country genre. preferrably rock. anything newer than say classical mandolin music i suppose. whatever.

these are the songs i have been able to come up with already:

1. Losing My Religion by R.E.M.
2. Copper Head Road by Steve Earle
3. The Last Walz by The Band
4. Maggie May by Rod Stewart (might not put this one in if i get enough)
5. Remember When by Alan Jackson
6. Landslide by the Dixie Chicks

there are a few songs that i know but i can't for the life of me remember the title!

- the one(s) by Led Zep (this is bothering me the most that i can't remember)
- that diamond rio song where they are standing by a biz jet in the music video
- a couple other dixie chicks songs have mandolin but i can't remember

any other songs you guys can think of!!!!!

Fat Man - Jethro Tull
Christmas Song - Jethro Tull
Love Story - Jethro Tull

Jethro Tull uses the mandolin quite a bit actually.

The Zeppelin song is Battle of Evermore.

I know there is more, but can't think of it all off the top of my head.

Roxette has used Mandolin on a few songs, especially on the Joyride CD. Watercolors in the Rain is one that comes to mind; Small Talk too. There are others, but I can't recall them all right now.

The guy that sings high harmonie in that band also plays the mandolin. Every Diamond Rio song, as far as I know, (I have three of their albums) has mandolin in it. Just pick one. :)

Can't help you there, don't watch TV. But lets see, by a jet probably trying to show wealth, right? Could be the song "Stuff" or could be " Is That Asking too Much? " I have no idea... wait, you're buying the album or paying for the downloads, right? :x

as far as diamond rio goes i am not sure yet but the mandolin songs i am compiling i don't intend to pay a dime.
