Rock in the valley is a blast!!! Lots of booze, lots of sun, lots of loud music!! When you go, get there early because traffic is a bitch. Also, buy lots of groceries ahead of time because prices there are insane.
Have fun, let me know how it was this year, I won't be able to go.

Make sure to reserve a camping site too. If you do you can be nice and close to the beer gardens and main stage. If not you will be stuck with quite the hike to everything...

I was there last year for the whole weekend and it was a blast! I am pretty sure I will end up out there at least for 1 night this year...

I was there the first year...1981 or 2 when it was a fledgling country music thing masterminded by a Catholic priest raising money for some cause or another. I got hammered with the priest and some clown (really, make-up and the whole bit). Neither of them seemed able to pay for their own drinks and the clown was freaking because his girlfriend was pregnant. Who the hell lets a clown get them pregnant?

Anyway, if I can find somebody to look after the dogs I might just put the Hanta Hotel on the back of the big green truck and make the party. No clowns though...the priest was amiable, but the clown was just bitter.
