I know Gershwin really isn't all that old, but I felt that his style contrasted Manson's well...
So, what do you prefer to listen to? I'm also a great fan of some of Shostakovish's pieces (Leningrad Symphony makes me happy in my unmentional area) but I also loved the Used "In Love and Death" album... Bleh. Oh! I also get a daily fixin' of Motown and 80s pop, heh. And listen to Fred Bear at least once a day.
Gershwin
That poll question would make sense if they were comparable genres...
Okay then. I was told yesterday that no one in my generation listens to Queen. This was in response to me asking him to turn down the Marilyn Manson he was listening to, and me saying that I severely disliked the remakes of Tainted Love and Sweet Dreams. He then told me that no one ever listens to those anymore either, and those those respective bands no longer have any fan base either (I personally love the Eurythmics). And of course he attempted to tell me that in a musical sense Manson's music is also great. He got angry and walked away when I asked him "how many hit Broadway style shows have been created using Queens music now?"
I prefer the 80s music to much of the music I hear today. At least they used actual real instruments!
Don't worry, there more people than just you who listen to Queen, myself included.
For Queen and other great hair bands, I listen to Iceberg Radio (Canadian owned), but you can get any kind of music there. No commercials. It's awesome!

WAIT a second! people still listen to Marylyn Manson?! Holy CCrap I havent herd that name since 1999.
BTW: This font set dosent include an interobang.
Queen is the greatest rock band ever, well maybe The Who is…
Either way much of what I hear today is CRAP!
I MISS VYNAL! CDs suck! I miss liner notes, cover art, stickers, posters and all the other crazy crap that was stuffed into the album cover. Queen’s Bicycle Race poster, Cheech And Chong’s huge rolling paper, Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here post cards; Now those were the days! Well what I can remember of them anyways.
The Who is pretty good if your talking 60's though Hendrix is god. Anyone like the Ramones?
I agree about Hendrix, never really got into the Ramones music, although I like a few of their songs.
Last time I was State-side I was in a Target with a friend looking at the stereos. We found one that was a record/tape/CD/A-track player, it was so kick ass looking too. I wanted to buy it, but it was so damn expensive.
And here in Windsor there's a store that sells some pretty kick ass records for like $5-$20, it's where my friend bought me my layout of the NCC 1701 D lol
