This so called surplus is a rip off from those corrupt lying Lieberals who ripped us off and HAVEN'T paid down the debt that that communist bastard Trudeau imposed on us which was $498 Billion debt.
Finally we have a Government that knows how to manage our money and have common sense and intelligence.
This is a shock to the lefties but hey what does one expect from them.

Any government (fed/prov con/lib) that collects a single penny more then it has budgeted has lied to the people and stolen it from the taxpayer and should either:
a) reduce taxes accordingly;
b) refund the difference;
c) resign.
I am sick of living in the highest taxed country in the world while governments post stolen surpluses, pat themselves on the back and tell us all what marvelous money managers they are then spend the ill gotten loot on some partisan pet project.

W actually discussed this at length somewhere else. You can have all the surplus money back but you still have to pay your debt so we need to tax it back from you now plus an additional 5% to offset the interest that grew while you had it. It may be your money but it's also your debt.

Then work the pay back into the budget and tax accordingly. If not, why the heck even bother having a budget? I mean this is accounting 101. Why do Canadians put up with this slight of hand economic shenanigans? We are either apathetic or ignorant to basic economics.
