Perhaps you find politics, personality and morality all gray
Mayhaps you were born just yesterday
So I offer a poem about this modern time
With the suggestion the culture itself sure ain’t in decline.
In politics there are Ins and there are Outs
But spending is what those amateurs are about
Your ear may hear some discussion of a bent rule
But the proximity of treasures is what’s learned in that school.
And everything is specialization
Knowledge, skill and information
But if it’s good judgment that’s part of your request
All you’ll find is a couple of meanings to self-interest.
Oh morality will cause Great Debate
And there’s those whose opinion won’t be sate
But broader self-interest is a veritable Roman legion
That will alone produce strong social cohesion.
On personality I promised a quote
Which is some fun as I’m basically a bloke
But in the adult world there’s one main ploy
Which is, “And my fault in all of this, my boy?”
So there are some lines which aren’t half bad
Gleaned from the trying times we’ve had
And I never had a child and the family chaos
Which is guaranteed to have you seeing, being then thinking some “cross”
Nice.
