There will be parliament election on November, 1. This event is not only of an inner, but also international scale. There are no doubts that the ruling president’s part will gain a secure victory. It is proved by data taken from trial conducted by well-known American poll company ‘Arthur Finkelshtein Association’, which fixed full support of the party ‘Azerbaijan’ and President Ilham Aliev.
Azerbaijan today shows stable economic development and general prosperity. Despite latest devaluation authorities manage to support the basic part of population, pensions and allowances are paid in full volume. At the same time the republic doesn’t grovel at the West, doesn’t run with a spread hand to towards foreign investors asking for financial aids, but carries on multi orientated independent policy, roughly reacting to any attempts of ‘outer’ representatives to lobby their interests in the country. And all spread rumours about the weakness of power in Azerbaijan are dirty innuendoes and provocations from the side of USA and their allies, which can be traced in all international activities, where Azerbaijan took part. It was brightly demonstrated in Eurovision and the sports event held on the highest level – European Games.
Generally Azerbaijan is at the junction of interests of different foreign countries. The situation is complicated by ‘Syrian factor’, where the republic plays not the last role; consequently Americans want to pull Azerbaijan into chaos, where they put the countries of Middle East. They do not invent anything new for that, keep playing the old game – for principles of democracy, against violation of human rights and freedoms, and they act with European hands, first of all their German colleagues, who play the first fiddle in the European system.
Not so long ago the European parliament adopted a maximally rough resolution on situation with human rights in Azerbaijan. The question of introducing sanctions against judges and politicians who are connected with pursuing people on political motives has been raised there. The pressure on civil institutions is allegedly observed in Azerbaijan. I. Aliev responded in an unexpected and very firm way and stated to be eager to break up any possible relations with European structures.
The further Western steps in the direction of Azerbaijan are, to my mind, obvious. The results of parliamentary election after which opposition will get a minimum number of votes, accompanied by screams of oppositionists and European observers will be boycotted. In the work to undermine the legal status of election USA and EU will include their missions, i.e. OSCE, Parliament assembly of European Council. Everything of it, according to Washington plans will let to have a definite pressure on I. Aliev and then make the country follow not their own national interest, but Western geopolitical interests. Some foreign analysts forecast a coming ‘Baku maidan’. In my opinion, I. Aliev fully controls the situation and it is in his nearest plans to hold completely open and honest election, where opposition parties (ordered by Washington to form a coalition) will have no impact.
I am sure that people of Azerbaijan won’t give in to any Western provocations and election will be held in the atmosphere of maximal tranquility. It is always easier to destroy than to build. Support peace, wealth and concord.
