The Nazi Party of Canada?

Weren't the nazi's socialist?
Uh... No.

They
killed socialists and communists...
They were Fascist...

Which is, heh, on the right wing of the spectrum...
Which was the basis of the joke...
Mussolini and Franco were out and out Fascists. The National Socialist Party was a unique entity, blending elements from both the right and left. Had Rohm and friends not been offed, the Party would most definitely been more of a left wing party than a right. In the end it was merely the tool of a psychotic megalomaniac.
HMMMM.......sounds like what the Liberal Party became, and still remains, after Trudeau came to power. Once upon a time the Liberals governed from the right 'Canada's right', which shouldn't be confused with what a right wing party is in the rest of the world. Most Canadian Conservatives and conservatives would be considered left wing social democrats in other countries.

Canadians - both conservatives and liberals - hate the Nazis, and Communists.

Actually that's wrong. They are both on the left side of the spectrum. The true political spectrum is:
Totalitarianism--------------Democracy.
Left is Fascism, Communism, Even monarchy to an extent.

plus they are confusing economic systems with political systems
economic: capitalism, communism
political: democracy, socialism
Socialism isn't an economic system? Gee I guess we're going to have to rewrite all our textbooks.
anarchy and totalitarianism are the extremes of how a society is governed, or in the case of anarchy how the idividual governs themselves. Besides which left and right are subjective terms. In the dying days of the Soviet Union those who wanted more economic and political freedom were referred to as left wing, while the reactionary old guard that wanted to maintain, the now defunct, 'communist' system were labelled right wing.
Socialism, communism, capitalism and various combinations are economic systems. What is produced and who controls the means of production and distribution is what determines an economic system. Socialism is part and parcel of that definition.

I just have to point out. The Nazi's were THE NATIONAL SOCIALIST PARTY OF GERMANY.
Note the term NATIONAL SOCIALIST. A term witch can be used to describe the Chretien government most adequately
Debono @ Sat Apr 28, 2007 9:19 am
Hey eveybody, im doing a history essay on the Canadian Nazi Party...anybody have any references/links/info they can reply with? I have very blurry knowledge about it, and i would also like to know more about the Canadian Socialist Party...all this is confusing. Anyways thanks a lot.

Mr. Canada
The Nazi Party of Canada?
It's actually more than just a name.
The Nazi's as a party of the right is just communist propaganda.
The Nazi's had all the hallmarks of all the socialist governments. The primacy of the state versus individual rights. Centralized control of the economy..........
Prior to WW2, there were Canadian Nazi's. The most numerous were in Winterpeg and Regina. A very prominent Nazi party was in Quebec but it really lacked membership although it seemed to have some support from the establishment---church and state---mega embarassment.

Can't dispute that though, can you? In fact.... you managed to illustrate his point rather nicely.
Well done, OTI.

Why would they? Positive political ads in Canada don't work. Waste of money.
Like Chretien was positive around Stock Day.

Even the name
National Socialist and Democratic Party I believe is the translation.

Nazi is a nickname, just like Tory or Grit. The Nazi party was The "National Socialist Party of Germany"

: D Do you now. Sort of like Alan Alda with a speech impediment?
I'd just like to correct the fact that the CPC actually have had a number of good news stories here and in the news but the regressive will use anything, even irrelivent things like Harpers hair or his waistline to find faults. The media on the hill were particularly sad because they don't get those nice junkets anymore so that's why they write crap, and that's why the official media arm for the CPC is Youtube.
