The crown has been part of our heritage since the first Limey set foot on the continent. It has always been a part of Canada.
I am not denying that. I am specifically arguing that it is stupid that our "Head of State" isn't Canadian( and I don't give a damn about that 'legally/technically, she is' crap) and spends the majority of her time in jolly old England.
We became a Dominion, eventually got our own flag, repatriated our constitution; the last thing for us to do as a nation is to have our own born-and-bred Head of State.
