I've gotta back twiztidklown up on this one, Gerry. Love conquers all. I know at least one other person who moved to the US for the same reason, and I know how he felt about the US before moving, so I think I can safely say that twiztedklown didn't really have a choice.

Look at it this way...I married Mrs. Rev in spite of knowing her family beforehand. That's kind of like moving to Venus without protective covering, but I did it.

Ok.... how about you tell me the reason you "HAD" to move to the united sl_ts of america. (little hint.... if it was to "get a job" then I don't think much of assholes that use Canada's low cost education system then desert our country for "higher paying" job oportunities.)

As one of these "assholes" that chose to move for a job I take some offense. My wife and I both being in health care were recruited to North Carolina in 2002. They paid for our move and gave us sign on bonuses for the uprooting our family had to endure. I never quite thought of myself as a deserter for one and for another get some facts straight:

1. Canada's education system is MORE EXPENSIVE than the U.S.'s. A full time student at East Carolina University pays around $1,500 PER YEAR. One course at Saint Mary's University in Halifax is now $950. The only time the education costs more is if you go to a private college.

2. Both my wife and I took a PAY CUT when we moved. My wife made about $8.00 less per hour as an RN and I made about $5.00 less per hour as an MR/MI Case Manager.

Are you just a little bitter that you don't qualify to work in the U.S., or do you feel it's wrong to try and improve yourself and see what it's like to live in another country?

You'll notice I'm not in NC anymore - I got fed up with murders, heroin in my daughters school, Confederate flags, intolerance, poverty and the knowledge that I didn't belong. But at least now I know - which is a couple of steps above where you appear to be.
