Gay Pride-I'm Sick Of It!
So here we are in the middle of gay pride weekend here in Toronto.
We've got the flamboyant types prancing around on floats, the mandatory "dykes on bikes" and lot's of guys walking around Church St with the ass cut out of their pants.
Am I the only one whose bored with this?
Don't get me wrong. I don't give a shit if two guys want to go all "Brokeback Mountain" together. I believe everyone should have the right to do whatever they want unless it seriously restricts my rights to do what I want. And I don't see how gays interfere with me.
Gay marriage?- No problem.
But Puhleeze!
Don't expect me to take seriously a ceremony like we saw in downtown Toronto yesterday called "Pride and Rememberance."
This was a candlelight vigil for all the "heroes" (an organizer's words-not mine) who've died of AIDS in the last few years.
I mean C'mon! I'm willing to throw a few bucks towards a yellow ribbon cancer campaign. I don't mind ponying up when the local Girl Guides come to my door asking for a donation. And of course, I always march on November 11 in memory of the brave souls who charged German machine guns at Normandy or Vimy many years ago.
But give me a break. HEROES are the firemen who ran into the World Trade Centre. HEROES are the Princess Pats who go out every day to stare down the Taliban in Kandahar.
I will never, ever, ever refer to someone as a "hero" simply because he took a cock in the ass and got a fatal disease out of it.
Give me a break!

You should move to Alberta.
Keep that shit down there.

Just posting here will get me called a homophobe...but I agree.
Thing is, you're not even allowed to agree because that's "heterosexist": assuming that people are heterosexual, even though some 90% are.
It's all total progressive bull.
...not that there's anything wrong with that...

Yes, of course you're right. It's not enough to accept homosexuals as equal, contributing members of society.
In your politically correct world, I have to revere and idolize them. Otherwise, I qualify as an "Albertan" (read-"Redneck").
Fuck that noise. Prancing around on a float with nipple rings and a leather hat is stupid and humiliating no matter what your sexual persuasion.

It's PC bullshit run amuk. You've either got to accept someone regardless or your a bigot. You must accept thier lifestyle rammed down your throat or you're intolerant. That's why I hate everyone, I can't be called a bigot just an asshole.

Why Ziggy?
Is YMCA running through your head now with images of the motorcycle cop bumping and grinding to the beat, and scarier still you find yourself humming along.

I'm trying to remember where I stowed my gun rack in the garage many years ago. Thanks to the cons I might be able to dig up a rifle or two.
I'm in Alberta, you dont see too much of that here yet(guys walking around with the ass cut out of their jeans) How about where your at Shep? Got a gay pride thing there yet?

If you dont like it, dont go to the bloody parade, it isnt that hard. Its just one day, avoid that area that day and you never have to fear the leather bareass ever again.
And just for the record in my POV, gay people do NOT want to be raised above others, they just do not want to be descriminated against, by having these parades, it gives a chance for the community to let loose all those inhabitions and go wild. Its one day out of the year to say "Fuck you society, here we are and get used to it!" or something along those lines.
And just so we are clear here, Although YOU might be embrassed to be dancing half naked on a float through downtown TO doesnt mean everyone else is. We all have our own def'n of fun. This, obviously, is not yours, so shy away and leave well enough alone.
Otherwise.....join in the fun
One group you definitely shouldn't bend over backwards for.

Calgary and Edmonton have a gay pride parade do they not? If you are keen on the naked butts, I am sure a bunch will be out and aboot that day. And just because Alberta is a "cons" paradise, doesnt necessarily mean its a good thing. Diveristy is a good thing and those who feel oppresed in thier given areas is never a nice feeling. Being ashamed of who and what you are is something no one should experience. Obviously it does happen in some places, but that doesnt make it right.

they had a gay pride gathering in Inglewood today...had to take a detour to get to my destination this morning...the Calgary Saddledome!

Chinese guys gay? Nothing about gay pride parades in their newspapers or on TV. Mind you a lot of Asian men come off a little foofy at times. They're into touching and walking with their arms over each others shoulders, even when they're sober

. The guys seem to spend more time on their hair and clothes than the women do.
