My old lady's non-political. Her shift doesn't start until 11 today, so I kind of nagged her to get ready and vote early. As her shift is so late, they don't have to let her off early to vote.
FINE! Where's the STUPID voter card. Who should I vote for? They're all assholes. Bye THEN!
I have a LOT of friends who won't vote too. Probably so do most of you.

FFS, it isn't just that we've had to fight over the centuries for the right to vote, it's the ONLY say you get on how things run. You should be happy you get your opinion.

BTW I didn't tell her who to vote for when she asked. Just pointed out she already knows who I support, who her union recommends and can see the anti-Enbridge signs and his election signs on every other house all the way there.
And I also told her it was her vote, she could vote Green or for the young guy with the nice hair or even the guy all your friends curse about if she wanted to.
She was with me visiting my Mom in the seniors home once, when Mom told us how she always told Dad she'd voted Conservative and supported him in political conversations. But it was a secret ballot so she voted however the hell she wanted to. "I even voted for Tommy Douglas once, Pierre Trudeau in 1968 and for Svend Robinson once as I knew the assholes running against him in the riding!"

Not voting is the same as 2 votes for the party you don't like. ;)

I voted and then wrote, 'They're all assholes', on the ballot. SFA there from the local community.....just teachers, cops and nurses

The important part is that you vote for those candidates other people don't like.

My opinion isn't listed.

DrCaleb, I suppose that's 2 votes for all of them.

Not voting for the lesser of two evils is still not voting. ;)

You can still spoil your ballot or vote for Christian Heritage, Independent or Awami League and your displeasure will get duly noted.
If you don't participate you'll be like all the potheads who won't remember to vote, you'll just be a taxpaying drone and the rest of us will decide things for you.

I've never missed voting in an election since the year I was first able to. I am always proud to vote. I do so for all those who cannot and for all those who died or fought to give me this right.

I was surprised around after afternoonish. It wasn't near as busy as I thought it would be.

Maybe later in the afternoon it will pick up.

Vote or Die

HERE HERE!

The voting station is located in my apartment building,
so I popped in after work before I went up home.

I always make it a point to vote, and try to convey to
others how important it really is. Too often taken for
granted.

If you don't vote, you don't have a right to complain.

So there!

-J.
