Have you ever been to Parliament?

If so, what did you think of it?

Parliament

I was there when I was a kid, watched the changing of the guard, and took a tour of the buildings.

Thought they made a big deal out of something as mundane as a shift change...

It was pretty cool because the PM was there and I could have killed him since we just walked into the place and wandered the halls where there was no security.

I never went to Ottawa or Gatineau to get the peak of the Parliament building. I'll try to do so this summer when I can travel a little more after working to save money.

Since I'm new here in this country, I only went to Montreal (duh, I live there), Quebec City, Thousand Islands (came in from New York), and Niagara Falls (came in from New York when I was 10 years old).

I was there in 1977. The flag was flying at halfmast because Senator Griffin had died. I don't know who he is, but the name stuck.

My kids will be part of Gymnaestrada Nationals in Ottawa. They'll be part of a huge routine performed on the lawns of Parliament Hill on Canada Day.

Cool.

Been outside a couple of times, looked impressive enough and made me feel real broad to be a Canadian.
